Spoiler Alert! Big Brother 18

I sort of agree with the casting thing. The last season that I loved from start to end was probably BB11, and that was seven years ago(!!). My interest in both BB12 and BB13 lived and died with Rachel being in the game. BB14 and BB16 were two of the all-time worst seasons of American reality TV. BB15 was fascinating and one of the few times Big Brother grazed actual relevance but of course it was for all the wrong reasons.

BB17 was actually decently engaging until the finale/winner capped it off as a shitshow. But last year was still the first year that I looked at the cast (where the oldest person was 32 year old Shelli who was branded as a "cougar") and started wondering if I'm too old to watch this show anymore. As Sgt Pepper as pointed out a million times, the casting for Big Brother skews also much, much dumber than Survivor's, and especially where women and minorities are concerned. The super rehearsed Diary Room sessions are very grating too.

I might be in the minority but I liked the premiered. Had no problem with the returnees or the new team twist. It looks like all the returnees are already in trouble. Of the new people the only one I'm starting not to like is Paul and so far I like Michelle. Hopefully we have a good season.

YAYYYY on Dayvonne being back and on the same team with Zakiyah & Jozea. She BETTER last longer this time so we can get weeks of great DR entries and maybe GOD MAYBE we could actually have a person of color go to the end? Also I hate Paul because she hates Paul and because he wants to get rid of her which is in direct conflict with my interests.

Meh on James and Nicole and UGH WTF WHY on Frank returning.

Of the alpha males, only Victor is even remotely attractive to me.

The four returnees were already spoiled forever ago, and I'm ok with all four them. Frank looks so different though.

I was feeling so bad for Davonne as this is her last chance at this game, and while she was talking shit to Paul, he actually won the challenge for them and they also got lucky the other teams tower fell. lol.

During the last challenges I was flustered at all the dr sessions where everyone said the same thing change a word or two. Two hours and I'm not on to anyone except Victor and Paulie (Cody's bro). He's a little more out there than Cody was. This far in I am amazed that Da was the first to cry and her drs are blah as are everyone else's. Bronte is hard on the ears but they have one of those every year.

It looks like Jozea and mama D are bringing the drama and i'm here for it. Victor is yummy and i'm low key shipping him with Jozea. I need a big old extra large popcorn for this season!

I normally hate the way vets roll over newbies on these mixed seasons but just this once I'm hoping that tradition continues so that Davonne can last longer. She's the only one I really care about.

Paulie is sooo cute. He's definitely my eye candy this season. Although he knew that Paul was throwing all the vets under the bus. Why didn't he smarten up and offer up Paul another target instead of him?

Regardless, this looks like it is shaping up to be a great season. However, after watching the past 2 seasons of Survivor for the first time, I'd gladly trade in a summer of big brother for another summer season of Survivor.

As much as I want Jozea to go I kind of want him to stay longer just to make things interesting. Jozea and Paul could make interesting enemies for the returnees. I love it when someone like Jozea things they know everything but just end up looking stupid by telling his whole game to Mama Day and acting like he's doing her a favor.
