Also sorry to hear about your bad-sun-day, JM - I've been there, done that. Same thing happened to a friend and me when we were about 23 years old, and we made a trip to Nassau, Bahamas. Second-degree burns are when your skin becomes blistered, and we both definitely had that.
I congratulate you on, otherwise, enjoying yourself on the trip!
I disagree about New Jersey. The place may look ugly in many places, but I've had a LOT of exceptionally good times in that state. It may or may not be the "luck of the draw" for me, but I've generally found NJ'ites to be great people to hang out with, and there's certainly a lot of good food, etc.
Fortunately your sunburn will pass...I hope you're feeling better already! No doubt you've already noticed a difference. I also assume there really wasn't much they could do to treat you.
