Now that Billboard is compiling its year end list, which should be announced soon - which song do you think will be this year's No.1 song on Billboard Hot 100 Year 2006? Bear in mind songs accumulate points to earn their positions.

I'm praying that it's Daniel Powter's Bad Day. ..|

I agree with UrbanBoys. Too often, my favorite song of the year is not even in the Top 50.

I'm pretty sure it will be "Hips Don't Lie", Shakira. It has become the most played song on radio ever.

Actually, Mariah Carey still holds the record for most played radio song in history. 'Hips Don't Lie' fell well short of taking that from her. As far as SPINS on mainstream, she holds the record with Nelly Furtado's "Promiscuous", but not overall. BUT, remember, Billboard's Top Songs of 2006 is NOT solely based on radio. It's based on how well a song did on THEIR charts which includes downloads. SO most likely the song that stayed at #1 the longest is it.

I think it will either be:
Hips Don't Lie
Promiscuous
Bad Day

it's gotta be "promiscous girl" or "check on it"....both spent 5 weeks at no. 1 and lingered in the top ten forever. tho it spent i think only 1 week at #1, "hips don't lie" also lingered in the top ten for a while so maybe that could be it as well. "sexyback" might also be a contender as it is still #1 now for at least 5 weeks..

I'm praying it's NOT Daniel Powter's "Bad Day" Ugh!

I'm pretty sure Nelly Furtado's "Promiscuous" will have a No. 1 year end orgasm. I think it should be noted, too, that The Fray will more than likely have two songs in the year end top 20:

"Over My Head (Cable Car)" and "How To Save A Life." Both of those songs spent half a year + in the upper echelon of the charts.

LMFAO. We're talking about BILLBOARD, not worldwide. And Hung Up...was that even part of 2006? Even if it were, i don't even think it would come in at #1 worldwide. The number of countries it hit #1 in is irrelevant if you base it on World Charts. It wasn't #1 at the same times so it wouldn't work.

Man, I forgot about "Check On It." If that is #1, this country has NO taste. That song was so FUCKING ANNOYING. I hate that woman.

In regards to Madonna's "Hung Up":

Billboard begins it's yearly tabulations the first week of December of the prior year and that song peaked at No. 7 in early December and spent three months in the Hot 100 in 2006 so it'll definitely rank in the Top 100 songs of the year.

Definitely not in the Top 50. Probably No. 72 or something.
