I have received several direct e-mails over the past couple of weeks wondering where my "Top Billboard" threads have gone and no, I haven't exhausted the 640-page "Billboard's Hottest Hot 100 Hits," I was just giving it a breather :-)

So to shake things up a bit, I'm gonna devote this one to Diane Warren, songwriter extraordinaire. Whether you love or hate her, the woman has written some of the biggest hits of the last millennium and there's gotta be at least one here that you love ...

5. Have You Ever? - Brandy

Gawd - all top 40 crap! All poorly written songs - made for comercial middle of the road radio - hard to listen to - silly junk music!

I'm totally ignoring what gator has said. I'm a big fan of Diane Warren. I know her fans and Jim Steinman's fans don't get along, but hell, I love them both.

Thanks for the list.

To date, I have collected more than 210 songs written or co-written by Diane on one DVD.

Have you ever heard Into The Night Of Blue? It was recorded by Ace Of Base but was only released as a b-side.

I only have Ace of Base 'Don't Turn Around', which interestingly had been recycled by Aswad (No.1 in UK) and Bonnie Tyler too.

What an impressive list. Her talent intimidates the hell out of me!

Tina Turner was the first to record Don't Turn Around. It was a typical 80s power ballad that she released as a b-side. Bonnie Tyler covered it and released it as an album track

Then, Aswad covered it, making it a reggae song and having a number 1 hit in the UK. Ace Of Base covered Aswad's reggae version and added their own touches to it - namely the rap in the middle - and went on to have the biggest international hit with it.

Speaking of Ace Of Base...here's Into The Night Of Blue, another song by Diane Warren. It was released as a b-side as a bonus track from their third album.

They recorded another song by her called Island In The South, but it was never released.

Like wow.. thanks for the info. I think there is no way one can have a complete song of hers.. I remember when I was seeking for The Jets - Same Love. It took me a long time to find the track.

Thanks for the youtube. : )

I'm totally with you there, Starlight!!! Lemme guess: Billy Steinberg & Tom Kelly are also big loves of yours, too. Cuz that twosome definitely is one of my huge loves!!!

I love love Diane Warren's songs! She wrote some great songs for Cosima De Vito! 'Now That You Can't Have Me' and 'One Night Without You' are some of the best songs!

These two were so cool. I could not believe the No.1's these two produced - True Colors, Like A Virgin, So Emotional etc. Did they write for Heart - Alone? Man, these songwriters are unbelievable.. they keep generating good tunes. I love Albert Hammond too.

Have you guys heard Strong As Steel - a hit in the UK? Cool. Simple, but cool. And I know there are friends around me who love Your Baby Never Looked Good In Blue, as well as I'll Never Get Over You Getting Over Me by Expose.

I miss Diane's hits. She should attempt a noticeable comeback. :(
