This might have been posted here before and if so, I apologize but the November 11 issue of Billboard gives a horrific review of Gwen Stefani's "Wind It Up":

Gwen Stefani admitted on MTV that her upcoming "The Sweet Escape" comprises leftovers from her first solo album. Really, she shouldn't have. "Wind It Up" sets another new love for high-octane acts releaseing some of the year's most irritating music. This jam is so monotone and meldoy-free that it makes Fergie's similarly cast "London Bridge" sound like "Bridge Over Troubled Water." Stefani chants the title over and over alongside a childlike lyric and - most absude of all - a sample of "The Lonely Goatherd" from "The Sound Of Music." A song this does not make. There is nothing whimsical, cute or catchy at play here. Instead, we have the equivalent of a musical brain aneurysm. -CT

Ok...the video for this is all over the place. I mean literally. Who the fuck made that video??? I can understand beng different and trying to set a new direction...and then there is this video.

I hated the song the first time I heard it. It grew on me in an odd way the second time. I caught the video twice on VH1 early Saturday morning.

So I hate the video and the song might grow on me. I feel the same way that I felt towards SexyBack when I first heard it, so it might just grow on me. Vegas

Ok this is a little coincidental. No sooner than I posted my last post, I turned on the American Music Awards and saw Gwen Stefani doing the song live. It doesnt sound good live at all, and those weird dancers from the video were there!! lol

But I do like the song when it goes "You've got to let the beat...get un-der your skin..."

Vegas

The video owns. I don't care what anyone says. I love it. The song. It's ok. It's on the same level as Hollaback Girl. It's one of those songs you can listen to once or twice a day, tops. After that, it starts getting irritating.

Haven't had the misfortune of seeing the video, but as much as I hate the song I don't see me liking the video.

I predict the whole cd is a dud.

YOU'RE FIRED!!!
I mean, the reviewer..

Has anyone heard "Yummy" from Sweet Escape????? I'm really starting to love how she's taking her sound to yet another level. She's calling her new sound "disco Tetris." Interesting stuff.......

I fucking LOVE the song! I'm starting to like Gwen. Mostly because I'm a HUGE Kelis fan and Gwen is like the "white" Kelis. I've been playing it non-stop. I wonder if ya'll still wouldn't like it if Mandonna did it....

I agree this song is an insult to the fans. Hollah Back Girl was cute for the first couple of weeks, but this Wind it Up song is just awful!

I like "Wind It Up" when I first heard it I was like WTF but I really like it, sure it's not her best but it's still fun to groove to and at least she's doing more in it then saying "go head be gone with it" over and over and FUCKING OVER AGAIN...

She should release "Yummy" or "Sweet Excape" as the next single.

I suppose I have to give her some credit for releasing a song that's not really like much else on the radio at the moment. However, the song just doesn't sit well with me, with the yodeling and Sound of Music thing, it's almost like it's trying too hard to BE like nothing else on the radio and winds up falling flat on it's face, if that makes any sense. The first time I heard it, I hated it. The second, third and fourth times, I didn't like it. By around the fifth and sixth time, I really started liking it. Then it became just okay, and now I'm back to hating it again.

poor america

that stupid song is in top 10 and madonnas jump is #105??? americans are so stupid](*,)

Madonna didn't promote. She had the big songs when her album came out, and you can't say Jump is something different.
