So, a couple of years ago, Northwestern University was saying that when you wire them up to the big scientific testing machine, bi guys were really just gay guys in disguise.

Now they have done a more careful study and lo and behold, there really are bi guys who are genuinely turned on by the erotic delights of both men and women.

This time, the researchers recruited men from websites catering to bisexuals and limited the cohort to those who had had sex with at least two women and two men, and relationships with at least one person from each sex. Respondents then watched videos of men and women engaging in same-sex intimacy while genital sensors tracked their erectile responses.

Bisexual men were found to respond sexually and “subjectively” to both situations, a stark difference from the gay and straight men in the study.

The findings are part of a growing body of research that suggests bisexual men are not homosexual but uniquely sexually aroused – a concept some still find hard to swallow, and a no-brainer for guys who identify as bisexual.

Absolutely. The "congratulations" part was tongue in cheek. The scientific interest is real however. It is always interesting when something like this can be backed up with academic studies because it makes it harder to dismiss as "subjective opinion."

So many snarky answers, but I don't think they're totally warranted. Yes, gay people should (and most do) know that bisexual men exist, but you can't expect straight/mainstream folk to be aware of that, can you? After all, it's undeniable that there aren't many bisexual men out - or much of a bisexual community.

I asked about that a while ago and most of those who answered said it's because their sexuality is not a big part of them. OK. But if you don't show that side of yourself, then how do you expect to be seen?

Actually I think a lot of straight people have an easier time accepting the existence of bi guys than gays do. For a lot of gay men, "bi" is the last compromise they try to make themselves believe before they finally cave and admit they're gay. So they assume all bi guys are just chickenshit like they once were.

But no, you bi guys really do like snatch as much as cock. Genuinely and authentically so.

And from my point of view, that is really kinky... and probably something we should all aspire to. It's good to see the sexiness all around us.
