She always has such cool covers (well, her early stuff wasn't so inspired). The album name is usually difficult to read, but it's cool. Medulla is still my favorite cover of hers.

I love Bjork she is unlike any other female artist. At Bjork's height of fame most stars don't take risks with their music. Bjork has always been unafraid to try new things with her music. I admire her for that.

WOW. I'm gonna cry. Three people copped out on me on giving me a ride to see Björk at Coachella. I'm still holding a candle for Red Rocks. :: crosses fingers::
Is anyone here going to the first gig at Coachella? I demand reports! =P

I am actually hoping that Volta will have some rocking beats. She's mentioned in interviews that the music reflects how she feels about the state of the world. (read: pissed) That same attitude spurred the fantasic beats we heard in Homogenic.

Timberland is a good producer but certain artists he just should not work with.

This song is a mess :(. Well actually its not a mess and the chorus is catchy, it's just different and not what i am used to, and maybe if i understood what she was saying (besides "we are earth intruders") i would appreciate the song more.

It's just like Nelly furtado, I liked LOOSE but Timberland changed Nelly's sound completely, i mush prefer, "Like A Bird" Nelly Furtado, than "Promiscuous" Nelly.

The concept behind the song is so good and so deep. Its such a departure from the mainstream but it works.

No you had it right. Its a mess.

Somehow I think knowing what she's saying would make it that much worse with lines like we are the sharpshooters and some other shit about trees and branches. Unless she's talking about smokeable trees.....

What's worse...is that's NOT a snippet. Its the entire radio edit. Scary.

Give it another listen i am on my 7th listen. This song is a grower, but after a few listens you should feel its awesomeness.

How i interpret the song is that she is saying we are destroying the earth, day by day and we need to take care of earth. The earth was fine before humnakind, and we are intruding by not taking care of it. She is using lots of metaphors to bring the point across.

In the third part of Stosuy's interview with Björk, she talks about the genesis of this song.

"I flew straight from [Indonesia] to New York and met with Timbaland, who got a private jet or something and met me in the studio," Björk said. "So it was like two extreme kinds of worlds. And I'm not criticizing him, I mean, good for him, I can understand it's a totally different context...it's really hard to put into words.

"'Earth Intruders' was the first beat he [Timbaland] put on, and it just all came up, that sort of fantasy that maybe a tsunami of people would just come and hit the White House and scrape it off the ground and do some justice and spread these people all around the planet...

"I could see all these people in Indonesia that lost everything just kind of coming up, and everybody in Africa-- because they were asking me to go there and fight, to be one of the people to address AIDS-- just seeing those people, one sees pictures, but then meeting them is something else. Just a wave of people."

I am not a die hard fan infact truth be told all i know is that she is cute and wore a swan dress to the Oscars and got a best actress award for Dancer in the Dark and that Medulla was like no other album released that year for its originality so had you not started this thread i doubt i would have heard it, but i am glad i did.

Bjork has 12 Grammy nominations, and by the sound of "Earth Intruders" she better get ready for #13.

She also got an Oscar nomination for her "music" from Dancer in the Dark.

People should be more open to different musical expressions and i am happy that i am able to have an appreciation for most if not all types of music.

I like Bjork. She's made a lot of good music. But for me, her last album was totally unlistenable. And this new single... umm... not really feelin it.

Ironically enough I'd never heard of that movie until I saw it on cable Saturday. What a strange movie. And again, 40 seconds was all I could give it.
