The prophecy is true, for as it was written in the final days of black America a downlow queen from Atlanta would sell out black culture for a minstrel show and each movie he made would be worse than the last and he will keep making more movies non-stop his movies will flow like rivers of blood and fire and there would be much weeping and gnashing of teeth and even the elite of black America would pack theaters to watch this coonery and buffoonery

Each subculture has some sellout to live down. You can be black, fat, Southern, Latino, Jersey, Italian, Cajun, gay, or many others, and there is some commercially successful living lampoon for your subgroup.

Never seen any of his stuff, but then they ain't aimed at me.

i'll stick with the Carry On films.

But it's soooooo bad the writing is awful the themes are trite and the sheer success of his brand just astounds me, although it shouldn't because it's the tired old sanctimonious pseudo-emotional gospel-soaked shukin and jivin

He was upset at Diana Ross for not wanting anything to do with his movies and not returning his phone calls when he wanted to cast her in one of them....so were a lot of his fans.

Diana is not a fan of Madea either

Of course....I bow down to Miss Ross(ww)(ww)(ww)...I can't help myself....so I was defending her at the time....

I think it is always amazing that Madea is able to make herself into Tyler Perry.

I will say I do like how Tyler Perry is straying away from the lifetime movie plots and sticking to what people actually want to see and came for, which is the Madea character. Being that I'm black, I was dragged along with my family whenever a new Tyler Perry movie came out, and we all saw all the plays at home. I just had enough of this shit really.

The last Tyler Perry movie I actually paid money to see was The Family That Preys. Oh was that movie awful and had a predictable story line and so many cringe worthy parts. Making interracial dating and open relationships with both black and white people something so terrible.

The last Tyler Perry movie I saw was Madea Christmas on bootleg, which in turn had the same exact plot as The Family That Preys going through the same damn shit.

I don't know if I'm going to see this one or not.

I'm suspicious on any director who always puts his name on the billboard.

I'd actually be interested to learn how black America feels about Tyler Perry and his movies. Do they attend in greater or lesser numbers than they do for the average movie. My impression was that Perry's humor was aimed at black audiences more than other audiences.

Tyler's movies give 'cringe-worthy' a whole new layer of meaning.

Just don't turn the sound on. It's much better that way.

Just be thankful that Tyler Perry didn't re-make Roots.

Tyler Perry is God to black America. They love his corny Samboesque "Ooooh look at me I's black and I's talks like a slave I can't 'nounce no big fancy edumacation words alls I know is fried chickens and chitlin peas." He caters to the lowest common denominator yet even aflluent and educated black people seem to like his low-grade humor.

This one was outed by an angry ex. It's doubtful he's the only leading man in Tyler's plays who's batting for our team. I wonder what the interview process is like.

Tyler: Can you act?
Actor: Yes.
Tyler: Ok. Take off your shirt.

EVERY movie he does is the same. Drug dealers, abusive dark-skinned husbands, light-skinned rough-neck saviors, close with a rousing gospel number. He's perpetuating all of the worst, destructive parts of black culture, namely the addiction to the religion of our oppressors.

OMG...someone else said it!!!!! I am thrilled! I love you!

Rewind the past 40 years and you will see me lecturing one person...or two people... to whole rooms of people.... on this very thing...sometimes it was all black people in one room...and the horrible thing..no one had ever heard anyone say this before.....

Other times...I made people watch The Gods Must Be Crazy for a similar reason to make a point and then come back and talk to me...

I got hard reading this...so thanks ..|
