black history month - music edition

McFadden-and-Whitehead.jpg

John Whitehead (1948 – 2004) Gene McFadden (1949 – 2006)

I want to celebrate Black History Month with Music by sharing a personal flaw - there are so many good people in the world I discover after their deaths. The guys who uplift everyone around them with love and respect only appear to me after they're gone.

McFadden & Whitehead weren't just singin' to Black folks - they were singing for All of Us!

Pretty much everything Ella ever sang counts as the 'best of'; her vocal talents were utterly amazing! :=D:

^i never knew she recorded how high the moon

I'm a Blues fan with a deep respect for Ella Fitzgerald's gorgeous voice, and many recordings. While appreciating that her recording career covered Swing, Jazz, Pop, and Bepop I believe that her Blues recordings expressed her great talent as a singer.

As Black History Month 2017 draws to a close I would like to share a special song.

This is a song about forgiveness and I am truly blessed to have lived my high school years at a time when a simple pocket radio would carry beautiful music like this!

I love this song, I wanna dedicate it to my future boyfriend, wherever he is.

OK Gang, it's February close-out time and I want to say a Big Thank You to Karen Walker for making this a Black History Month to Remember!

During my high school years I was blessed to hear wonderful music made by young men to honor the special women in their lives. And this is such a song where very young men sing of a love that spans the years.

Karen, I want to dedicate this next song to you.
