Black Swan

Saw this movie last night. It is excellent! I'm surprised that it isn't talked more about on here. (Is there another thread?)

I love that it is not predictable and it really shows the pressures and the battles with perfection that all performers face. I am a musician so I identified with a lot of the movie.

I think Natalie Portman did an amazing job. If I was straight I'd be all over that!

I don't see why Winona Ryder was in this. Her part was so small. I think the writers could have expanded her part a bit more.

Anyway, go see this movie in the theatres!

Absolutly loved it. My favorite movie of the year. I think I have a crush on Vincent Cassell , he was so damn sexy.

Fantastic film and a phenomenal performance by Natalie Portman. She MUST be nominated for an Oscar nomination! It'll be a crime otherwise!

He was excellent in Black Swan...and he's naked with lots of full frontal in Irreversible.

Don't get the hype.

I thought it was pretty boring for the most part, tbh.

Honestly, I felt the same way. Being a Mila Kunis fan I was also disappointing that her character wasn't as fleshed out as I hoped.

I mean, it was a good movie for sure. I just don't really get why some people were so emotionally distraught after watching it and stuff.

Download it?
I saw it, and I was scared of her mom the most.... I think. XD

I enjoyed it, mostly. Portman was sensational. I just thought the hallucinations were a bit silly and overdone, particularly the scene with the paintings, which I thought was unnecessary. That and the last scene with Winona. Neither were creepy, just kind of stupid. Typical Aronofsky overkill.
The end with the final performance was just amazing though.

I agree. His "touches" or "trademarks" do tend to ruin a film. But what an amazing performance from Natalie. Just fantastic trip of a film with her in there. I do hope she gets the nomination for Best Actress.

I have worked in a mental facility for one month before so I can somewhat relate to what is happening to her in the film.

At first it's kinda boring but when you finished the film, that's the time that you will realize the film is amazing, very hunting

Mila Kunis and the Film were robbed at the golden globes.

Mila wasn't robbed...although I enjoyed her in the film...I don't think it was an award worthy performance. Barbara Hershey on the other hand was robbed of a nomination.

The movie was robbed though...I thought The Social Network was one of the most over-hyped movies of the year....I thought it was incredibly boring and didn't think any of the 3 leads were all that incredible.

that's exactly how I feel about "Black Swan" after I saw it, overhyped.

as for Best Supporting Actress I haven't seen "The Fighter" so can't argue. I do wish both
Mila and Barbara had more screen time.

Erica: Where have you been?
Nina: To the moon...
Lily:....And Back

my favorite line!!!

and i also agree with you bostonyboy20 Barbara Hershey definately deserved a nomination for best supporting actress

Natalie won, although to be fair it was kind of a given since once you see the film you know that she is going to win some kind of an award.

I did like The Social Network, especially the music, but you are about the leads. They were good, but not WOW, like every one keeps telling me. And it wasn't the director's best film either for my money.

Barbara Hershey definitely deserved a nomination for best supporting actress

Very surprised that she didn't get one at all. Considering her character is a driving force on Natalie's character. You figured they would have done something for it.

i absolutely 100% agree with you ^^^^^ the social network was a great movie! but jesse eisenberg does not deserve best actor nomination. if anything andrew garfield should be considered for best supporting actor. i saw the kings speech the other day and i think that should win best picture! it was superb!

I have a feeling Barbara Hershey will receive a Best Supporting Actress Nomination for the Oscar's.
