i'm switching my iphone 3gs for a new phone and i am so done with iphone and not jumping on the iphone 4 wagon...i haven't used a blackberry before but i love the interface and the sleek look of the blackberry torch though and so thinking of getting that.

anyone else using that? how's it?

i'm not interested in using my phone for games (so over that) but mostly for work, business, and social networking stuff. heard blackberry is good for that.

I had an iPhone 3GS and got the Blackberry Bold 9700. Worst mistake I made. They say it is perfect for email, it doesn't display any images in the emails though which is useless. Internet is slow and the versions of facebook and twitter on it are crap too. Stick with iPhone or move over to Android and HTC

Jumping from an iPhone to a BlackBerry may be a bigger change than you think. The BlackBerry is still more business oriented. It is good for email, but as the person above said it doesn't display images unless you tell it to, and even then it can be distorted. You'll also need to make sure to have the BlackBerry services activated which allows you access to BBM. Many, including me, like the BBM feature.

I have a Bold9700 and sometimes it does run slow. This is sometimes due to the equipment and or ATT. A friend of mine has a Droid and likes it. He is not a phone or tech person.

I have a BB Curve; it's the first phone I've had since, like, 2002. It's pretty cool. Email, BBM and Facebook on my phone. What-what!

I went to from the Iphone to the BB Torch a few months ago and kinda wish I didn't.. Take it from me this BB is my 4th one since 2005 so Im a huge BB fan but I would stick with the 3GS...

Also, dont waste money on the Iphone 4 until at&t gets 4g coverage!!!!

I like the curve. My BF has the Torch. They both work pretty well IMO.

Not to discredit these guys or anything but TRUST ME on this. Torch > iPhone.

I've used a Samsung Captivate, 2 BB Bolds, 2 BB Bold 2s, Samsung Focus (Windows Phone 7), iPhone 4 & the BB Torch and I've gotta say hands down Torch wins for BBM, media's pretty decent and the keyboard is FANTASTIC.

One thing about Blackberry - whatever app you're looking for, there's often NOT an app for that.

A lot of my friends and my brother said the same thing about blackberry. They're kind of sick of blackberrys. I picked up a droid2 and I love it. It has lots of apps, very user friendly. Not to mention the droid2 plan is MUCH cheaper than blackberry's (about $20/month cheaper).

I think the price is highly circumstantial as my blackberry plan is only $40 a month for unlimited everything. talk, text, data use, social networking, multimediamessaging etc.

The actual blackberry data plan is $40/month (which is a ripoff still). The phone service isn't. I just checked my phone bill and it's $89.99 for unlimited talk and text and then $29.99 for my droid's data plan.

My guess is your parents still pay for your phone cuz there is no way a college student could afford a blackberry.

thanks for the response you guys, but im not from the u.s. network here is awesome and never had any problems - and the blackberry plan is only like $20...so those are fine i guess :)

but i'm in an industry where i have lots of contact and i love the ability to just send text/emails a.s.a.p.

i kinda downloaded lots of apps like photo editing and games from 3gs - but i realised a year has passed and i stopped using them now lol. so i could live without them. but yeah, i kinda watched the review of bb torch and they have like alot of sub-menus..which in iphone, things are just SO simplified....

yeah, i'll still look at further replies and ask around...i asked my coworker who used iphone AND bb, and she loves both, lol. that's not helping much :)
