Season six "American Idol" runner-up Blake Lewis has officially signed to 19 Recordings/Arista and is eyeing a late 2007 release for his first album.

Lewis is working with producers such as J.R. Rotem, Ryan "Alias" Tedder and S*A*M and Sluggo on the effort, which is provisionally titled "Audio Daydream (ADD)."

"It's your favorite '80s mix tape, it's very inspired by Michael Jackson, Prince, Erasure, Depeche Mode, Duran Duran, the Cure. It's all over the map, really -- very influenced by '80s hip-hop, old school breaks, whatever." said Lewis.

"They're letting me down the album I've always wanted to make," he added. Lewis will be on the road with the American Idols Live tour through Sept. 22.
 
I can see 9 out 10 songs on the albums will include beat-boxing.

Well, congrats for both Lewis and Richards, they're obviously talented, and they deserve it.
 
there have really only been 3 american idols that are actually "listenable", Carrie Underwood (got her cd), Kelly Clarkson (got Breakaway), and Daughtry (got his cd), Fantasia isnt going nowhere, same for ruben, and clay, and that guy with the grey hair, who sings do i make you proud, i havnt heard nothing good from any of them!!
 
Latino, if they weren't good, then why did they get so far in the competition??
 
Cant wait!!! I figured it was coming eventually. Many of the top 10 from every season usually make albums. I have many of them.
 
I agree about Fantasia. She's got some good music under her belt, and she's a really good performer. And as we should all know by now, popularity has little relation to quality or genuine talent.

The biggest example of american idol voting retardation is Taylor Hicks.

IJWB, that is hitting below the belt.
He's good, he done a better job then Sir Mix-a-Lot when they performed together. May not be what you like, but you have to admit he's good.

Also, when he was doing harmony with the other guys, he didn't sound half bad.

Finally! Here's the debut album cover from Blake Lewis (who took 2nd place in this past season's American Idol)

His album entitled Audio Day Dream lands in stores on December 4th.

His first single is called "Break Anotha"

Her Tattoo single is doing fairly well so maybe she's avoiding getting swallowed up in the holiday rush.
