Bloated email inbox problems

Anyone else run into the "1000 plus" messages in your inbox because you just couldn't be stuffed to delete anything or you get heaps of notifications and you either cannot turn them off or again, can't be bothered to do so? Or, worst of all, your spam filters aren't working and messages get through anyway...."ladies will enjoy you titanium hard pecker etc etc" :mad:

I am currently dealing with an inbox of over 3000 messages :eek: I feel like doing a mass delete but there could be something worth saving in amongst all that..
 
I'm so sorry Mikey, that was rude of me and I can only hope you'll forgive me...I enjoy (some of) your threads ....most of the time... and most of your threads all the time, but a bitch cain't like all yer threads all the time or a bitch'll wanna go shoot up a mall parking lot or some shiht! swear da god

Just trying to make a contribution to HT. But, I realise some people might be bored by the thread or it just doesn't apply. I just wanted to get some feedback from the community. Why do you feel the need to jab at me. I don't do it in threads you create. If you think a thread I create is stupid then that's your opinion and you are entitled to it. But you could simply ignore the thread.
Then you apologise and send me a private message and call me hon...

I'm just trying to be helpful, sorry if you can't take a poke...or jab, whatever you want to call it...I know I make stupid threads too, it's fucked up when you see one of your projects go to hell like a snowball...my point is, not every thought deserves a whole thread to itself---find a topic already active and post ideas THERE! cause, damn...hon...
 
I currently have 113,436 messages in my inbox.... I was thinking about mass deleting also and I then I realized I may need some of those emails. So I said, fuck it i will just let it pile up. lol This doesn't even include the spam email box. haha

OMFG...it will take you days just to get thru that lot
 
I do my utmost to stay on top of my incoming messages - otherwise, I'm bound to miss the important ones. My general rule is never more than 50 nee messages in the inbox (or any of the subfolders), and no more than 100 total. If I hit 50 or 100, I have to go in, read, and delete.

I have to keep the emails filed and flagged. It is essential to running the office. I hate vacations now, because you either have to plan on having one day when you'll look at the shit people are piling at your doorstep, or come back to hundreds of messages to work your way through.

We always have a special recognition moment when I clear my mailbox and get everything filed. My Admin Asst usually can't beleive it when it happens.

With my personal email though, I usually let it run a few weeks and then do a delete and file when I'm bored with watching porn. jk.
 
Update: Inbox is down to 177 messages at 14% of capacity. I'm through with that task. Now, to tackle hotmail account (only 2,112 messages)....

Ugh...I need some support and encouragement.
 
First-world problems :zzz: My friend always ask me how to bypass this problem. My suggestions: 1). do the manual way. 2). make a new e-mail and prevent the e-mail piling.

My inbox only has less than 100 mails, because I prevent them from piling. When I open my e-mail, I immediately tick and delete those I won't read (FB/Twitter notifications, SPAMs, unimportant e-mails). I read the rest and immediately delete those I don't at all need, then I move the remaining into e-mail folders. After I no longer need the stored e-mails, I delete them too.
 
A couple of years ago I went to a library computer to access my email. Whoever was on the computer earlier hadn't logged out of their email account. The summary said that there were, I think, more then 221,000 UNREAD MESSAGES! :dead:

I didn't dig into it, but my very first glance brought one hell of a big WTF?!?! moment.
