I've never really experimented with a guy before, so last night I was at this adult store and this guy offered to let me suck him off. I thought he looks ok and its not like he was going to hurt me or anything so we went into the bathroom and I proceeded to suck/jerk him off. After a few minutes he came and I swallowed some of his cum.

Nothing much. But I'm honestly worried. Have I done something now that is a major risk for me? I don't know anything about this guy's background other then he really liked me. Do I need to go somewhere to get tested? I'm so worried I don't know what to do. Any advice would be such a help to me. :-)

Better safe than sorry I would say get a test. The health dept. will usually do them for little or no cost.

Better safe than sorry - definitely get tested and don't take a chance like that again. Be prepared, always have a safe in your pocket.

Definately you should get tested because you ingested some of his cum!

There are other threads on this subject. Do a search. From what I've read, there is a slim chance of catching AIDS from giving a blowjob. But now is a good time to start checking it out of yourself. Here is one link that might help: http://www.gayhealth.com/templates/1156353706995410657486/sex/aids

After you get to that page, scroll down to the section on oral sex. Check out the whole site, there is good information on the site.

DO NOT PANIC but use this experience as an opportunity to learn more about STDs in general and decide the level of protection you feel comfortable with the next time you have sex.

Unprotected oral sex as mentioned before has lower risk (HIV/AIDS) compared to unprotected anal sex. Open sores, cuts or a recent dental intervention affect the risk. At the same time, STDs other than HIV/AIDS can be transmitted orally (gonorrhea, clamydia, etc).

HIV Testing is a good idea for any man (gay or straight) who is sexually active. It´s like taking a picture of yourself at a moment in time. Testing might give you additionally the opportunity to clarify questions or concerns you might have.

Go through some of the messages at this forum and some of the resources mentioned above. Do not panic but be responsible.

Attached is a 2-page fact sheet on Oral Sex and HIV/AIDS published by CDC in 2000 and updated in 2006. Check it out:

FOR GOD'S SAKE!!! You don't just go blow the first guy that wants you to! Especially not in a dirty book store!!!!

You're probably all right, but get checked out, and next time, try to have sex with a guy you KNOW and LIKE! It's MUCH more fun that way!

All the advice givers above that are suggesting you get tested are forgetting to tell you that it will take about 3 months until the tests will show up HIV; there are some sources that say 6 months.

As was already mentioned by others, HIV is not the only thing you can get from oral sex.

There's not much to be gained by panicking now. Inform yourself better and learn to be more careful in future. It's unlikely, although not impossible, that you were infected. Go get tested in 3 months.

Look, you are getting sexually active in m2m sense. Like most of the guys here. What would life be like without it?

You started on a bit of a wrong note, if you do not mind my saying so. You have not thought it all out and have not really planned for it. Rite? yeah, this happens, too.

So, run a quick battery of std tests and make sure you repeat your HIV test in 3 and again in six months.

Educate yourself an decide that having sex is ok. Having sex in dirty bookstores might not be to everyone's liking but it is only for you to decide, what floats your boat and what cranks your tractor. Not all the dudes out there are into long romancing, LTRs, BFs, etc. Most guys I know, are into quick, hot and anonymous sex. Period. End of that story.

What really matters healthwise is not really, if you 'know the guy', or even 'if you like the guy' or even if the guy 'told you, he was clean and STD free', etc. None of that matters at all. Protection as in 'always using a condom' does. Make it your clear policy never to have sex without it. Any sex with anyone. Nope, as in 'no condom - no sex'. Nuf said.

the advice here is good. Follow silverRRcloud's advice about testing. HIV is one of the least likely to be transmitted orally but still has a risk and the worst outcome obviously. The others listed are possible as is hepatitis C (another long term, incurable one). I only really wanted to add that it isn't the swallowing of the cum that makes you susceptible. Even if you spit it out or don't let him cum in your mouth there is still a risk (pre-cum and all). So use protection (and sadly that doesn't protect against ALL std's b/c some... like herpes and hpv... are skin on skin so you can still get them).
