Sad to hear ... but at 89 he had lived to a good age and had an amazingly influential life.
'Live at the Regal' is still one of my favourite albums ... nearly 40 years after I first heard it.

So sad to hear that. A friend of mine took me to a B.B. King concert for my birthday once. It was awesome!

B. B. King: a national treasure. You will be missed. *wave*

Very sad news but he lived a full life and will be remembered as one of the most important men in modern music for his influence on electric guitar playing.

I had the pleasure of seeing him in 2010,and while he was clearly not as good at guitar anymore due to age he still had some voice.

He famously said that his music was for everything, something all races could identify with because everyone gets the blues sometime. Amazing life... his musical talents got him out of a rough sharecropping existence he did just to help provide for his family as best he could.. starting at just 7 years old. He drove tractors way before one could get even a regular driver's permit today. Used to play over 300 gigs a year and only started slowing down in the past couple of years. 89 great years for one of this country's greatest musical gifts and arguably one of the founding influences on R & B music. B.B. and his trusty guitar " Lucille" will live on for generations yet to come.

Re: BB King is gone.

He lived longer than a lot of stars.
Good for him.
