Not following the reasoning.

President Lincoln was shot and murdered. Does that mean his image should never be shown again?

If this man did porn, how does his subsequent fate affect the publishing of videos that he agreed to before his disabling? Your question puts the onus on the studios, but he is the one who voluntarily sold his image for porn. He didn't rescind it as far as we know, nor could he.

Opening this up for discussion. On one hand, maybe out of the respect for said pornstar. On the other hand, the porn star may not care.

Are you the guy always pecking at Jasun Mark about Jake Cruise? If so, this is a weak reference, and what does it have to do with the stated topic of the thread, the handicapping of the actor and its supposed relevance to the broadcast of his porn? This is a non-sequitur.

Your reference by derogatory mention of Mr. Cruise's appearance, as well as the use of "obscenely" makes your post appear to be an attack on this porn star.

Writing 'something to take note of' doesn't mean taking a few days/week of his work itinerary (i.e.; porn scene) and posting it is actually something to pay attention to.

Dare I suggest a whiff of faux concern about possible 'false advertisement'? I dare, I dare. Because he's an adult and I'm giving him the common courtesy of letting him make his own decisions - and the only difference via his previous public persona and now is the visible disability.

The scene was meant to be obscene and inappropriate. Think about it. An older, flamboyant gay man and a muscled straight guy having sex while a scene of people watch on. They were definitely going for some kind of statement there.

and then the guy gets shot and his only option is to make a GoFund me page where people donate for his medical care. You can say what you want but it is a very interesting story and somewhat tragic. You would hope most people in porn walk away with a lot of money and then a way to keep the money flowing without having to do porn.

They don't. They make more than straight men in straight porn, but the truth is, there is only a limited number of videos they can sell via a studio before it all becomes overkill. So, they make hay up front, but after that, the interval between videos is longer and they make less.

It's easy to think gay porn stars make good salaries because they often film in posh homes, but they don't belong to the actor.

It's also easy to learn the pay one star makes for a certain shoot and then project that across a year, but they don't make videos all the time and are not full time employed in most cases. It's more like a free lance photographer selling his pics when he can.

There is a surprising list of porn stars who ostensibly make their living as escorts after they have peaked in videos, becoming little more than famous call boys. Not very glamorous that.

Finally, one should consider the corrosive effect of the explosion of "homemade" porn now that anyone with cam can make it. The effect on porn studios has been noticeable.

Not smearing all of porn, but notions that gay porn stars live some kind of life of ease like stars of the silver screen of yore is fallacious.

That is a curious statement. Why would we expect porn stars to walk away with a lot of money? They spend maybe a whole day making a shoot that results in a porn vid. They may spend a weekend in villa with a stable of stars making multiple videos.

Why would that work be of enduring worth financially? They don't get royalties. It's just a more glamorous form of prostitution, and one doesn't expect prostitutes to have great insurance per se.

We need universal insurance in this country, but that is really off topic.

We get it that you think he's sexy and are sympathetic, but it's really not an arguable point. He did some porn, but apparently didn't have a day job. Therefore, he wasn't covered by insurance.
