Not smearing all of porn, but notions that gay porn stars live some kind of life of ease like stars of the silver screen of yore is fallacious.

Well, I always see people saying on the internet that a porn star makes thousands per scene. There was a short (actually, very brief) time that I hated myself for being so doggone ugly that I could never do porn. I think Jasun (the pornographer on here) said a couple times that a gay porn star makes like a couple thousand per scene. Or something like that.

I don't know him, but he did porn and, I'm guessing, gathered a number of fans who enjoyed his work. He gave them a lot of pleasure. He's paralysed now, but should that pleasure he gave to so many stop now? Did the world stop watching Superman when Christopher Reeve became quadriplegic?

Death or illness or even disability does not diminish the work done before. JUB would be doing the man a disservice by removing his work from this site.

FYI, republicans now control 2 out of the 3 branches of the government. And in a few short months, they will have control over all 3 branches of government. It will be at least another 50 years before universal insurance becomes a viable idea again.

Maybe he was high or psychotic or both. At any rate, I suspect most of the porn stars that escort are actually conscientious and do their best to deliver what the patron expects from the videos seen.

I'm not a fan of prostitution, but I'd have to believe this was an exception and that most men get what they pay for when they hire a famous escort. Most of those sites have some kind of feedback system, so cheating a patron isn't good for future business.

The top billing guys do, but they are few, and they don't make videos every day, or even every week. Months pass between gigs. A few thousand doesn't go far when you're living in LA or NY and have expenses. Again, the fallacy is to think of it like an hourly wage, but the worker isn't employed 40 hours a week or even close to full time.

Wrong. This is bleak for now, but our government regularly swings as a pendulum. We had Bush, then Obama.

Have a little faith in the President Elect. From all the evidence, his administration will be most memorable and will scar the GOP for years to come. It already has. You know it. Considering that Bo Dean is straight, I doubt he spends much care about his fan base now. He did it because it paid better than straight porn, but he is not interested in men.

The market is oversaturated now, people aren't paying for porn they're going to tumblr and hosting sites where stolen porn lives, and when someone does buy the porn site membership they share the password with all their friends so four fans only equals one membership sold.

Pornstars are like bootleg cd/dvd guys, they were poppin a few years ago but now they're outdated and not really necessary, too many hot guys willing to show off just for attention and won't charge you to watch them get their ass ate.

I was so buy chuckling at the "porn" thing I forgot to read the article. Shame on the industry, I would think this is the part where they rally together to help one of their own. It's a cold world. And why isn't the friend who shot him identified? Was he arrested? Something about all this isn't sitting right with me but I'm not sure what it is. Curiously, I went to four or five different articles about he shooting and none refer to the shooter by name.

I would respectfully suggest the use of "stars" is misleading. Our erstwhile active member Jasun spent many a keystroke on JUB as an apologist for the industry suggesting it was a lot more normative and positive than most people credit it with being. I've never bought that line. From all appearances, it is not beloved by many of its performers and is a hardbitten trade.

A few get to stay in popularity for long enough to make some dosh, but a lot are like moths flitting through, and quickly are relegated to the afterlife of strip joints and escorting, or get have real jobs and only had porn as a side.

Mr. Jensen (Bo Dean) seems to have a lot of bad press out there about his escorting, up to and including a rumor that this shooting was a trick gone wrong when Bo was roughing him up in an argument and was shot by the trick's roommate in defense.

His FB page had comments to that effect on it, probably killing any support of the GoFundMe.

^ gay porn stars rarely get any fan support after their careers. Just look around here how many are ridiculed and degraded.

I think there are quite a few fans on JUB. But my point remains that we somehow romanticize their careers. My guess is that majority do it as an easy sideline for little money. The successful one get more money, but not enough to live on. Even very big names become escorts, and that is clearly a trade for income, not fame.

Other than loyalty, I'm not sure what fan support could be for porn stars.
