I became an overnight fan of the 007 films (and books too)! After seeing Casino Royale in theatre I decided "Wow this is pretty cool...and sexy!" So I started buying the other movies and books that I could find. Daniel Craig definitly makes the sexiest Bond but the other movies are great too. What do you guys think of Mr. Bond?

Oh man. I am a huge, huge 007 fan. I've seen all the movies many times over and have actually read all the Fleming novels to boot. Each actor has brought 'something' to Bond and I have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed Casino Royale. I love the dark, edgy way they did that one and I hope that they will stick with this formula. On top of that... Daniel Craig is very easy on the eyes. That scene where he comes out of the ocean in those light blue trunks? Mercy!

I'll be watching CR tonite. I'm sure I'll enjoy. I've always been a Bond fan, mainly for it's campy style of action that never takes itself too seriously. Although from what I've been hearing about CR, it's a bit more serious than previous Bond's.

I started to watch bond when I'm in junior high school, and now I'm a college student. In my opinion, Daniel Craig is the best Bond since Sean Connery. And Casino Royale is the best movie since From Russia with Love and GoldenEye.
However, because of the cold war content of the series, Casino Royale is the first Bond movie that is officially brought into China since 1960s.
Well thanks to China's high quality pirate DVDs, I still can enjoy Mr.Bond as much as westerners do, for I can not only watch the movies, but also the special features in the DVDs.

I absolutely love the Bond franchise. Every single movie has it's moments. There's not a whole lot of 60's-era movies that I can watch over and over, but Bond is definitely one of them.

Regarding CR, the only thing I didn't care for was the 20+ minute sap-fest at about the 4/5 point of the movie. 5-10 minutes would have been plenty to get the point across. Besides that, it was really one of the better upper-echelon Bond movies. No, Daniel Craig isn't the best Bond and no he doesn't have a Bond-like face, but I'll give him props for playing the novels-version character very well. I haven't seen the movie since seeing it in the theatre but look forward to watching the DVD.

Yes and yes!!!

Daniel Craig is a hot ass man.

That is all.

:D

So I watched CR last night and I have to agree that he makes a surprisingly good Bond, and a extremely hot one at that. At first he looked too different from Bonds of the past. But then he quickly showed what he is capable of, and creates a new style of Bond which is completely acceptable.

And those blue eyes, muscles, and impressive crotch are deadly.

Casino royale is the most realistic Bond Film yet. Actors are incredible and the story line is great.

Daniel Craig is definitely perfect for this role. He has the looks, the charisma and the talent to pull it off. He's physically fit to do incredible fight sequences and stunts. He also gave Bond a softer side, which I rarely see from the other ones. My favorite James Bond so far.

Evaluation of other James Bond:

Sean Connery - a gentleman, sexy, and smooth (the gestures, not the chest). I like his films especially Dr. No. I think nothing can top Ursula's bikini scene.

Roger Moore - probably the most charismatic and humorous bond yet. My only problem with his potrayal of bond is that most of the time He looked like a chauvinist pig. His leading ladies are useless, needs to be saved a lot, he slaps them, and force them to have sex with him.

Timothy Dalton - he has the chauvinist attitude similar to Roger Moore. What makes it worst is that he doesn't have the humor or charisma to balance it. My least favorite Bond.

Pierce Brosnan - painfully good looking. He has the charm and the talent to pull of a James Bond character. His leading ladies and Villainess kick ass, Halle Berry, Famke Janseen, Sophie Marceau, and Michelle Yeoh anyone?

Personally I can't stand Daniel Craig. Just saw Casino Royal last week and didn't like it.

Here is some Bond trivia. Name the first production of a Bond book? Anyone know? The answer might surprise you? hehe

The first production of Bond book was in 1955 in South Africa. And was a 6 part radio series for Springbok Radio.
In the late 50's Berry Nelson played 007 in Casino Royal on CBS which also started Peter Lorre.
Also in 1958 Patrick O'Bern played 007 in Diamonds Are Forever which was produced by Radio 2 in Rhodesia.

No George Lazenby review? :p

I really don't know why everyone disliked Dalton as Bond so much. He might have had the closest portrayal, character-wise, of any Bond to date. Granted, he only had 2 movies in order to showcase himself. One was among the worst Bond films, the other among the better 2nd-tier Bonds'.

George Lazenby was good in the role, but because or personal differences with the crew and his co-stars he was not asked to come back.

The primary characteristic required of any James Bond is confidence. Daniel Craig exuded confidence so incredibly believable.

George Lazenby voluntarily chose not to continue as Bond. The IMDB relates the story of Lazenby's decision.

Just bought the DVD. If you are a fan of the first chase scene throughout the constuction site, you will enjoy the extras feature detailing the planning and execution of this truly thrilling start to the picture.
