The Florentines. I've read many books about my favorite historical period, The Italian Renaissance, this book is great. Follows the history of Florence through it's major actors. Dante, Machiavelli, Amerigo Vespucci, da Vinci, Boticelli, Savanarola, and of course generations of the Medici family.

Just finished this book. Anyone looking for quality gay romance should read this book. The story is above average, the writing superb.

^A great book. It's the story of a young gay man in the 1980s in Poland, when the Communists were still in power.

^Our county library system (Delaware County, PA) has two copies. One is on the hold shelf at the Aston library. I've requested the other and will pick it up at the Marple library Monday.

If you'd prefer something simple, cute, and just short of silly, how about a gay vampire mystery? It's by Dean James, who (as Miranda James) also writes the best-selling Cat in the Stacks books.
