Boston Mini Meet April 24, 2009

Bob, I don't think it'll be a problem if you have to work until noon, to be honest, as Vaughn and I are going to have a walk around the Harbourfront for a while, for some bf time!

I think meeting up in the afternoon would be quite adequate enough, innit! ..|

Well, Cheers accommodated my group very well. There were 15 of us, we had reservations too, but our table was ready as soon as we got there. So as long as we know in advance who all is coming we could do that?

Then we'll go over to a bar/club. I'll coordinate and see if there's any good events going on.

The restaurant @ CC is pretty decent. If you're going on the cheap the bar menu is pretty substantial. Nice $10 burger, and they'll sub a salad for the fries if you're in a healthy mood.

Tho' frankly I prefer the more metro venues over on washington. the franklin on shawmut is always reliable. if anyone's feeling adventurous there's dbar out in Dot. very nice spot.
 
Club Cafe is a good place for drinks, but I certainly wouldn't recommend the food there. Unless you want to fill up on appetizer-like snacks, I'd say go somewhere else to get your money's worth of food, and good food at that!

As for Friday nights at CC, it's actually busier on Saturdays - I've gone on Friday nights when there were about 25 people there. I haven't been out clubbing in Boston in a long time (back when Buzz, Avalon, Aria, etc still existed). I think Machine/RamRod and Paradise are the only decent clubs/bars left in Boston.

Yeah, hopefully Bob & Syn will work on a time to meet up, and a definite place too! :D
All I know of, at the moment, is that Flash+I will be around in the morning walking the harbourfront, and then plan to meet up with JUBbers (wherever that may be), after we've had a little look-around.. :-)

I'd like to get a final head count so I can make reservations for Cheers. Depending on the size we may not need a reservation and can just show up. But I'd like to get a final count soon!! If you could please send me a PM RSVPing by Tuesday that would be great, along with any other ideas to do for the short amount of time that we have together.

As for afterwards, I'm kind of struggling with Dbar mainly because it's out of the way. It's down in Dorchester which is accessible by public transportation but then there's a walk. So we might go back to Club Cafe or check another place out?

Bradlee, justBob, and I will be meeting shortly to concretize the plans so far and work on timing and whatnot.

So in the meantime, all the JUBbers who are interested in meeting up for dinner and drinks or for one or the other please let me know!!

The Boston guys just met tonight to get some things down.

For all who are at least slightly interested please PM me to let me know what you are able to make.

It's looking like dinner will be at the Cheers bar in Faneuil Hall around 7:30. And then a little partying after that.
 
^^ I know!! I saw that today on the news and I jumped for joy. It's gonna be in the 70s and 80s Friday and Saturday.
 
it's going to be a perfect weekend to be in Boston. Spring is really here and my garden is growing like mad. yippee.

as it turns out i will be out of town from friday to saturday in Maine visiting a friend or two. but, you guys should be in luck for some touring around.

oh, and by the way. a new nice gay-ish place to hang out on Friday nights is Rocca in the south end. it's just off of harrison avenue and get's quite gay after 10 o'clock.

just wanted to pass that along in case you hadn't heard. have a good one!!
