I'm thinking about getting a bowflex machine.Anyone have experience good or bad? IS 600 dollars to mutch to pay for a bowflex extreme 2? Thanks

No experience with the bowflex per se, but my experience with home gym equipment is that I end up not using it, whereas if I have a gym membership I end up using it often.

I guess i'm a little diferent as i find working out somewhat arousing and could only go to the gym in my small town real late at night. So i definatly would use it.

I have the selectek dumbells, and the 5.1 bench. I really like them. the bench smells weird tho. Like if you work out in a small space the smell kind of makes you want to pass out, at least till you break it in. the dumbbells are really sweet. You can do crazy things with them because of how you can control the weight.

I've never used the machines. Im not a machine kinda guy

At the local gym up here, Alaska Club, they have the trainers that will help you figure out first how to use the machines and also what routine best fits you. I would imagine a local gym would offer something similar, this would be benefit your at home workout immensely. If it were me i would make a goal if i joined and gym and stuck with it for 3 months and still wanted a to exercise from home than i'd look into the equipment i wanted (having already used a broad selection at my gym).

However, I used a Bowflex for the first time this weekend at a friends house and had to look at the instruction manuel to figure out what i needed to move and change to get the workout i wanted. Once everything was in place i liked it but still a bit of old fashion with my own equipment. I have one of those $10 wal-mart inflatable exercise ball, home made weights, jump rope and a good pair of shoes. Works great, when used.

If one wants to work out the best piece of equipment they have is their own dedication to a routine. No need to buy the latest and greatest.

yeah i own the orignal extreme and it is alot of moving cables and cords...the new dumbell however are awesome.
