It depends on what I'm wearing (or not wearing) over them.

Boxers with loose fitting shorts or pants...or if I'm sleeping/lounging around. I hate boxers bunching under tighter fitting clothes.

Boxer briefs under jeans and tighter fitting pants...also under shorts if I'm doing anything athletic...for a bit of support.

Boxer Briefs. They offer some support, less excess material than plain boxers. And as a bonus I think they showcase your package nicely.
 
When I wear undies, it is briefs. Most of the time I prefer neither, just swinging in the wind.

Switched from briefs when I was in my early teens, never looked back. To this day I consider briefs something old men and little boys wear. Don't ask me where this idea came from. I know it is not accurate, but it is still what I typically think of when looking at briefs. I don’t know how anybody could be remotely comfortable in them.
