well for what price range are you looking?

a pspgo ($200-250 or so I believe)?
usual psp is even cheaper

How about a larger monitor? Or an iPhone? Wireless printer? Digital video camera? Those are my latest toys.

Experiences last longer than things. . . you're in Tampa? How about book a cruise with him. Those tiny staterooms - you're sure to see lots of him (and up close too).

^ Exactly! Gadgets go outta style, but memories last a lifetime! (Schmaltzy but true!)

You could always get a netbook. They range around $200 - 500 and are pretty small.

I don't think you can get the free upgrade to Windows 7 because netbooks run XP, but ask them at the store.

If your a linux guy, than netbooks are perfect.

I'm thinking I might ask him for an iPod Touch.

Go for the ipod touch but ask him to wait till sept when they should release the 3g. By that time your parents will think you saved for it :)

I have a desktop computer that I built myself that's pretty much up to date (c2d 3.0ghz, radeon 4870, 4gb ram, 1 tb hdd, 22" monitor).

If you built this yourself you obviously have more than a basic understanding off computer technology. Decide what you want to be able to do with this laptop. Email and internet, games, photoshop and design? Decide on the power you need to meet or exceed your desktop with this laptop. And sry, you won't find that for 200 bucks.

Damn Puff, you're one spoiled, materialistic brat
