"Explosive news out of Australia: in an interview with LGBT journalists Serena Ryan and Pete Dillon, a senior Salvation Army official said that non-celibate LGBT people should be put to death.".... *%%*

The site isn't responding at the moment - may be overloaded, perhaps. But this story has not shown up in any mainstream media, and Google only links to that one source.

Back in the 1950's it was kill a commie for Jesus to kill a gay in name of Jesus.

The Salvation Army is an appalling bunch of bigots and hypocrites. I'm not suprised that one of them would say something like this. I wonder whether a complaint to the local police would get him arrested for incitement?

Not surprising at all. The Salvation Army has always tended toward a rules-based "gospel", with a preference for Joshua knocking cities over and slaughtering the natives style rather than a "Come to Me, I'll let you rest" Jesus style.

Thought this asshole would enjoy having his photo on an internet forum that features homosexual pornography. :=D:

This is Major Andrew Craibe of the Salvation Army in Australia.

I always thought "Salvation Army" is a strange name for a charity company.
The word army should be blown up into pieces.

LOL, he should do porn. Hopefully his nude pics would be here for people to see.

While I don't want to defend the Major or The Salvation Army in general, the headline of the thread and link is kind of over-dramatising the interview. The major doesn't say anything of the sort. He just refuses to deny the relevance of the Romans scriptures in the Salvos Doctrine. He does a terrible job in the interview, and deserves to be hauled over the coals, as does the Salvation Army worldwide for it's abhorrent treatment of homosexuals. But I really don't believe the Major is actually saying he believes LGBT people should really be put to death.

I fully support Darren Hayes' call for a social media boycott of the Salvation Army. It's time they entered the 21st century.

I listened to the whole interview.
Major Andrew Craibe shouldn't be the head of the Salvation Army. The salvation army should be all about charity but nothing else. The fact that he lobbied the federal government against same sex marriage is going too far. His organization is not qualified to lobby things like that.

I finally managed to get to the interview. You're right -- he says nothing of the sort, so I give the headline a couple of Pinnochios.

He's plainly not versed in the S.A. doctrine or trained in communicating or defending it, and gives a pretty chaotic impression of things.

I've heard that Craibe is a practising, closeted homosexual who likes to hang around public toilets.

But I might have heard wrong.

He probably needs the practice. If I were young and foolish again, I would make it my business to drop doggie "chips" in the S.A. kettles during the holiday :p season. Since I am neither, when I hear the traditional S.A. bell, I'll just keep on walking.

It wasn't SA, but a guy I knew who helped an electrician from time to time saved up the round metal punch-outs from electrical boxes, and tossed them in these people's bucket.

I love how people get all up in arms over comments from the extreme moonbats. It's almost as if they take the comments seriously.

The trouble arises whet it's Reverend Moonbat or Cardinal Moonbat or Professor Moonbat or, as in this case, major Moonbat.

They cultivate their influence and adopt a public role. That means we get to denounce them in public for their moonbattery, instead of just quietly ignoring them.

It's only when the moonbats are people that a lot of others take seriously.

In this case it was Major Moonbat; when it's just some general moonbat, we let them be private moonbats.

It was from the Salvation Army, no less.
