Breaking up with someone tonight after dating for a few months. Any advice? I feel sick to my stomach right now.
 
It kinda depends up to a point if YOU are breaking up with him or HE with you. Which ever of these two is, some pain will be involved for some time, you´ll feel sick, cry, think and think and overthink. But they say time heals, sometimes not completely, but sometimes yes.

The worst you can do at the moment is to stay alone and lose your mind over this. The best you can do is to go out, enjoy your time as much as possible, be socially active, meet people.
 
feeling sick ..why? Maybe you should re evaluate the reason you are breaking up ?
 
Feeling sick bc of the anticipation and bc I don't want to hurt him. He might take it well or he might take it poorly, no idea.

Just be as kind as possible while remaining honest about your reasons for breaking up. No matter what, it's gonna hurt both of you for a while, but you'll both survive it. Good luck.

You know what, he may not take it well at all. But the honest truth of a relationship is that it's a two-way street. If one of you has quit having the feelings for the other, then it's just a one way path with one person carrying dead weight. It sucks to admit, but you can move on from this. Just be honest and kind to him. Treat him like he deserves! Life isn't always perfect. This will just be another bump in the road
 
Do it at his house. That way you can leave easily after it's done.
 
Actually, you are taking too much on yourself. If you have made a civil, honest proposal to part ways, it is then incumbent upon him to act like a human being about it. He has an obligation here, too. He is not excused from being rational. He is not excused from acting like someone who is emotionally stable. You have a right to be spoken to as if you are a human being, even if you aren't in the right.

If he chooses to behave like a decent, rational human being, give him a chance to make his case. If he chooses to act like a mentally unbalanced child, that's all the more evidence that you need to cut it off NOW. In one possible scenario, he is acting civilized. In the other, you are leaving something that you SHOULD leave.

You really think this is the right thing to do? Then there is no reason for you to feel afraid. You should only feel afraid if you question yourself. If you are questioning yourself, then I think you ought to pray on this a while longer. That's the only thing that can hurt you.
 
I hope it went well. Sensitive people have a difficult time with this because they put themselves in the other person's place. Something to keep in mind is that there still can be a period of grieving even if you're the one calling it quits. Best wishes.
 
Good luck man. Break ups are no fun for either party! If you're doing it bec. you don't have any chemistry or what not...take time for you--otherwise--re-evaluate before taking the plunge and letting him go.
