So, I was watching this really hot porn vid. today, this sub. twink was giving some head to a guy in a car. It was really awkward for this poor sub. as the center counsel was in the way. He was determined to get to the prize (it was quit a prize!) and really did a fine job.

It made me remember the cars of my youth, my 1959 Ford, my '63 Pontiac, My ford Falcon. Nice bench seats! No barriers... those were the days! Even my little Honda just had 2 bucket seats, so close that it was hard not to make contact with that hitch hiker that you would pick up.

And... don't get me in to seat belts!!!!

My only experience with bench seats was back in the day when my dad would polish the vinyl seats and us kids would go sliding from one side of the car to the other every time he went around a corner.

I do like bench seats in cars, but I understand that bucket seats are probably safer. The center console does make some useful sense, but I have seen where someone parks too close to one side of the car, or one door is stuck or frozen and you try to go to the other side of the car to get out, or in. It is almost impossible to cross the center console to get to the other side of the car.

Maybe some of us enjoyed the stick shift =;

I loved this.

My first car was a standard (manual) with a full front seat, and had the shifter on the steering column. That would have been really awkward to "enjoy" :lol:

Now, I find the storage space in the center console to be way more convenient and invaluable than the idea of getting a front seat :bj:

You gotta love the modern smaller tilt steering wheel, though. Even better if it is telescopic.

Standard equipment on most vehicles, these days, aren't they?

My brother had a pale yellow GTO with black vinyl seats that he would Armor All to death. You definitely had to hold on. :)

:lol:
My Dad bought brand new 68(I think) Chevy Bel Air station wagon with the stick shift on the column as a utility vehicle. I think it was less than 3 thousand dollars at the time. My Mom would borrow it at times to do shopping but she didn't drive stick. :eek:

3 on the tree?

:lol:

Another misleading thread title...

IMO, safety reasons resulted in the decline in bench seating and the rise in bucket seating. As automobiles have gotten smaller in width; and, conversely, people have gotten wider, there just isn't room for 3 adults to sit comfortably on a bench seat in modern vehicles. Plus, with the advent of the air bag, only 2 people are adequately protected when the bags deploy. Today' console is brimming with features that one can't get with a bench seat (cup holders, phone holder, phone recharging station, USB port(s), a secondary glove compartment plus additional storage).
