Nah, it's different. It's always reminded me more of the "guido" stereotypes in the NE US with the track suits and gold chains- only with hairless chests.
I think the Burberry brand was really upset because "chavs" were buying knockoff imitations and wearing it. They didn't want the brand to be associated with the stereotype.
