That's a shitty thing to say. To wish death on someone who's not a bad person who you've never met. I don't see why people enjoy kicking someone when they're down.

I wonder how many people who are not glamorous/rich/famous have you felt compassion for -- say, like starving kids in Darfur. But since we live in a celebrity obsessed culture I guess they're the only ones who deserve our compassion, right?

You know, she is a human being with human problems. The fact that she tried to kill herself is nothing to be jokey about. It's all well and good to give sympathy and compassion to people who desperately need it because they aren't as well off as ourselves, but why are they any more deserving of human compassion than another person who really hasn't done anything bad?

She's in the spotlight because she was an entertainer. Does that mean that we should just laugh when her world is falling apart? What has she done that was so awful that her death is fodder for comedy?

Kids in darfur deserve compassion and assistance, but I don't understand why a young, single, messily divorced woman, who's career has been largely judged by her looks, and who sits in the scrutiny of the public doesn't deserve anyone's compassion or sympathy.

People have tried to kill themselves or a lot "less" and received more sympathy.
