Re: The Official BRITNEY SPEARS Discussion Thread!

Britney sucked big time... and both times.

But I have to say that the S&M mix with her vocals saying "yeaaah" when she pops up in the performance was hot.

Her entrance was really hot. And the pose she did when she was calling to Rihanna with the bunny mask on was hot. Then it went downhill from there.

Was I the only one who noticed this shit? She tried to scurry off stage but came back when she found out the camera was still on her. I'm sorry but Britney is completely gone. Bow out now, its beyond sad.

Actually, no she didn't.

This fan filmed video shows she simply walked in the background a few steps to let Rihanna have her moment. It is Rihanna's song by the way. Aw my queen is so humble.

I was just about to post that video! That makes me feel 100 times better about that moment.

Re: The Official BRITNEY SPEARS Discussion Thread!

I think we all know Britney is being pimped out by management...in my opinion, her last great album was Blackout...after that, well. This is her swan song.

Re: The Official BRITNEY SPEARS Discussion Thread!

Even Chris Crocker says its time to hang it up. She need someone who cares in her corner.

Re: The Official BRITNEY SPEARS Discussion Thread!

I'm sure you said that about the Circus era and you will probably say it about album #8. Yet you are still here...

Nah, Circus wasn't bad - just filler. Much like Femme Fatale. Now she's latching onto other fresh pop stars at an attempt to remain relevant. It's quite sad, really.

What are you talking about? Femme Fatale is a critically acclaimed amazing album. And because she's doing collaborations she's suddenly trying to remain relevant? So I guess Katy Perry featuring Kanye, Gaga featuring Beyonce, Eminem featuring Rihanna, and so on all did that because their careers were tanking? Rihanna asked Britney to do the S&M track because she asked her fans on twitter who they would most like her to do the remix with and Britney won. The next week after the poll Britney recorded her part and it was quickly released. TTWE remix featured Nicki because they're touring together. What's quite sad is that people have tried to write her off for the past 13 years.

Re: The Official BRITNEY SPEARS Discussion Thread!

I can't get enough of the S&M remix with Britney!!!! It makes me want to dance all day and night :)

The last Rihanna song I really liked was Umbrella ;)

Yep, it's a great album by Dr. Luke and Max Martin. I haven't figured out why Britney Spears is on the cover, though...

Ok my deal. Actors. They take the material other people give them and they perform it and interpret it in their own unique way. People call them artists because of the interpretation. How is this different from singers? Because I don't see a difference. She took the material *she* chose and interpreted it the way she wanted to. And don't say that the producers make her do things because a director makes the actor do certain things. A song being performed by Britney is going to be totally different than other artists because her tone and the way she phrases things are her own.

Don't even try to argue with people like him. He's obviously a fan or he wouldn't be here...

he's just projecting his emotions onto Britney. It happens, unfortunately.

Re: The Official BRITNEY SPEARS Discussion Thread!

This assessment has been echoed plenty of times, and it's one I agree to 100%. Britney at this point looks the part of a Pop Star but just can't seem to function fully as one on stage anymore for various reasons. However... I didn't have any major problems with her performances at the Billboard Awards and judging from the response she received from the audience no one else did either. For once Britney/her management remained relatively silent while the media and blogs across the web hyped up her appearance as if she was headlining the show when she was really a guest performer. I thought the "S&M" performance was cute and liked the overall concept. Since Britney refuses to sing live she should have used pre-recorded raw vocals, especially when she came out for TTWE it may not have been so anticlimactic.

I don't get how her doing collabs is desperate either, I like that she is branching out and doing them now. TTWE is her most successful song ever on radio and that was before the remix was released. From '07 onward has been some of the best years for her musically in both sound and success. It's funny how Blackout has sort of garnered this cult-like following along with acclaim when initial response was lukewarm (most labeling it a "producer's album" too). Yet years later it's defined as her masterpiece, Femme Fatale is the much better album. IMO.

Re: The Official BRITNEY SPEARS Discussion Thread!

I just don't think Britney gives a fuck anymore

She hopped on stage, did absolutely nothing but look gorgeous and walked off.

It's all very "Twilight Zone"

People say "It's the medication"

Um, unless she is on morphine or horse tranquilizers there is no reason for her to act the way she does.

She can dance if she wanted to and sing if she wanted to.

She just doesn't do either.

That is not true.

Some medications that are used to treat Bipolar Disorder have serious sedation effects. Often times Atypical Antipsychotics are used as mood stabilization drugs and almost all of these (Zyprexa, Seroquel, Abilify, etc) have the possibility of serious sedation and can leave a person sleeping 16+ hours a day.

Now I have no way of knowing if she is on these types of medication or not, but I just wanted to point this out.
