So it's been confirmed that it's not #1 in 35 countries then?

Good. I can rest easy having an answer to that rather puzzling question.

I never thought the day would come that the lead single from a Britney album would hardcore flop. Is this karma from when I called 'Judas' a flop? =o( *wave*

Britney has one month to pimp out her new album and NOT JUST HER LAS VEGAS RESIDENCY!!!:mad:

It's clear the only thing Britney Inc. is focused on is this [STRIKE]destined flop [/STRIKE]Vegas residency. I see this playing out like X-Factor: good in theory, sounds good on paper, but will ultimately flop due to her own devices. I hope she proves me wrong, and if she does the bf and I will purchase them tickets with a quickness.

Quite a bit of hype from all sides on this "Perfume" song debuting Tue. Shall see how that plays out. Despite "Work Bitch" not being the mega hit as expected, I still like it. It makes for a good song to workout to and hits hard in a club.

I like it. On first listen I wasn't a big fan of the chorus, love the way she sounds on the verses, but after a few more listens it grew on me. I'm confused on what this song is about? She's with this guy, who is friend's with his ex, feels insecure, and wants him to be aware that she's still around (via her perfume)? Everyone has been describing this song about being cheated on...

You're on point on what the song is about. The cheating thing is coming from fans...I think. Idk. Beautiful song. I love her vocals. I always felt her handlers were hiding her real voice, trying to forever market her as some 15 year old girl. It's kind of nice to hear how she really sings.

Yeah even a lot of reviews were comparing "Perfume" to "Everytime"... which didn't make sense. It seems whenever she works with Max Martin/Dr. Luke they push for her more nasally, girlish sound whereas other producers allow her to sound a little bit more natural like in "Perfume." Personally I don't mind her trademark sound (I like "Ooh La La" for example) but it is a nice change from her.

So this demo for "Passenger" has been making the rounds, lyrically I like the song, but I'm sort of meh about it and don't understand all the praise vocally it's getting. (I'm not 100% sold this is Britney on the demo, despite all these confirmations that it is indeed all her.) What's impressive is that note at the end of the 2nd verse but everything else is pretty much sung like we've heard before. It's clear Britney isn't looking for chart dominance or to be the biggest pop star out there, less then a month away and there's been no real promotion outside of twitter & radio interviews. Britney Jean is really shaping up to be good on its word so far: more personal.

So... yeah Britney Jean didn't quite turn out like I thought it was going to. But I don't think it's a total disaster like the majority of critics made out it to be, not her best work but far from her worst too. MuuMuse posted a very fair, unbiased review on why this is album is just "ok" and not as great as it could have been. I won't dwell on the negatives because the album is a change in the sense there's no songs about The Club or being an undeniable object of lust, but instead there's more relatable themes. There's some vulnerability, feeling isolated, new/old relationship issues, and religious undertones on some of the tracks that's definitely a departure. Maybe with her next album (a big IF) she'll continue on more in this direction but not with will.i.am at the helm.

Like I said, I don't have high hopes for her string of Vegas shows but I hope she proves me wrong. Her team needs to release the director's cut for "Perfume" because as it stands is really poo.

I mean...

"Break the Ice" is probably my fave Brit-Brit song and I believe the only single that hadn't gotten the proper treatment until Vegas. She killed it. A major step up from her previous two tours and overall reviews/buzz has been crazy positive. Just like with Beyonce I was proven wrong. Britney Jean, what?

I haven't seen any footage of her recent Vegas residency concerts but I do know she has this empty look in her eyes for the last 6 years. Seems as if she's just going through the motions.
