Brittany Murphy Dead at 32

This news story was literally the first thing I saw after getting online. If I had been drinking something I probably would have spit it out all over my monitor.

I never thought she was a great actress (though she was quite good in Sin City, Girl Interrupted and The Dead Girl) but this is a real tragedy. I can't imagine what her husband and her family must be going through.
 
Wow that's crazy and shocking. I always liked Brittany Murphy, she always seemed to be so bubbly and cute. Such a horrible fate for someone so young.
 
This is REALLY sad... and only 32...

Am gonna spend the evening tucked up in bed with Clueless and Girl, Interrupted to make myself feel better... Awesome movies.
 
Loved her. Just watched Sin City again about a week ago and was wishing she would make more movies that got her mainstream attention. Sad now.

This is so shocking, she was so beautiful and loved the song faster kill pussycat. This has been the worst year for celebrity deaths, i can think of 7.
 
It is sad news...I have always liked her and enjoyed her work. I think I recall her having weight related issues a while back...perhaps that had something to do with it...idk...probably shouldn't speculate. I recall her being very bubbly and giddy...she had a great laugh! :(

This is very sad news, indeed. It's so unfortunate no matter what the circumstances of her death were. She was so young, beautiful, and talented. RIP

Yep, that blood glucose drops too low and you can just drop like a rock without ever knowing what hit you.

Some folks die from hitting their head on the way down, other have their heart or breathing just stop.

It's scary stuff.
 
Oh my god... I only just found out. That's really, really sad... I can't believe it. And what horrible timing being so close to the holidays. Her poor family. :(

Most people will remember her for Clueless, but to me, she'll always be Luanne Platter.

I thought she was terrific. :( "Girl Interrupted", "8 Mile", "Don't Say a Word", "Spun", "Sin City" were all good.

I always thought she was attractive, maybe because she pulled off the eccentric/psycho thing a little too well. You know, "crazy in the head, crazy in bed"? Plus she was cute and nice off camera.

R.I.P. Britanny. You left us too soon. :cry:
 
Horrible...............She was such a talented actress and I was living for her song "Faster Kill Pussycat" too. RIP Ms. Murphy.
 
I thought it was kind of eerie how similar her death
was to that of Karen Carpenter:

- Brittany collapsed in the shower
Karen collapsed in her walk-in closet, while getting dressed for the day. Consequently, both were found nude.
- both were discovered about the same time of the morning (Brittany 8:00, Karen 8:45)
- both were found by their mothers
- both died of an apparent heart attack
- as paramedics tried to revive them, both went into cardiac arrest
- both deaths are being attributed to eating disorders which possibly caused the heart failure
- both were 32 years old
 
that is truly tragic--such a young and beautiful, fun actress and entertainer

i am speculating like many others on this thread that it may be drug- or weight-related. Remember that girl terri schiavo who was in a vegetative state for 15 years? She got that way due to bulimia. And think of all those models who have died of anorexia-related complications. If brittany had diabetes as well, other things may have compounded her cardiac arrest.

i too wonder why her husband doesn't want an autopsy performed ...
