What my friend did is wrong but bare back really does feel way better from the giving AND receiving end. I just got out of a 5 year relationship and we didn't use condoms. I think everyone should try it with someone they love and trust and are in a monogamous relationship. It can be special.
It might be common sense. But if you ever took a physics class you will realize that it is not. EVERY condom manufacturer advices against it.

Against doubling up. Some note that the condoms are for vaginal sex, but not all.
As you said - it's your opinion. If you want to double up feel free to do so. But don't tell others to do something potentially dangerous. Even if you believe it makes sense - the fact that immediately so many here spoke up against it should make you wonder.

And you guys wonder why hiv is a gay disease....you people are idiots! Im not a doctor, but i am a biologist....first of all, two condoms are a horrible idea. Why wouldnt you tell him immediately? Depending on how likely you have hiv is, he could have gone on post exposure pro. If someone I didnt know came in my ass, I deff. would go on it.

There's a whole other piece of this story I didn't get into, but I think I should because it might be useful to someone else. You see, I went in to see my doctor the next morning, after the condom malfunction issue, and I made the decision to forgo PEP, due to possible side effects, toxicity, and just a strong "sense" that this kid was truthful. My doctor acknowledged that she had the drugs available, but could not recommend such a drastic course of action.
Within two days, I was so ill with a range of ambiguous "symtoms" that I could barely stand up without being overcome by fatigue and dizziness. I had Hot flashes, cold chills, trouble breathing, aching, burning, itching. You name it. On the fourth day I rushed to the emergency room fearing I'd made the wrong choice in refusing PEP.
After a thorough examinantion, risk analysis, and consultation I learned there was nothing wrong with me, that my symptoms were imaginary. It was still a long 3 month wait before a defintive test could be performed.
What I learned from this, was how unprepared I was to make a decision regarding PEP. Thank God I turned those drugs down. They gave me a choice. I was just this close. I still may have dodged a bullet. Who knows?
If you're in this situation, don't wait until the next day. Go immediately to an emergency room for a consultation. PEP is most effective if initiated with 4 hours of exposure, up to 72 hours.

I've never had to deal with the problem of how to tell him. Both times it happened to me (long ago), I immediately exclaimed "Oh shit the condom broke!"

Sorry but it just reminded me of something of a similar experience. And thats why I don't want to engage sexually with someone I don't know. Although I use condoms, you can never be sure if it may protect you 100% of the time. Doing it with someone you know is I think the safest way after all. And again still use condoms.

Hey its neither parties fault for this occurring, however it is still both parties concern. So the top should tell the bottom every time! Sure this will create a bad reaction from some bottoms only because of the possible consequence but the fact is it is still not the tops fault in any way. If the top and/or bottom is into a little rough stuff then either of them should be prepared with a specialy designed condom. Doubling up is neither safe nor fun.
