Anyone looking forward to the inaugural season of the Nets in Brooklyn? Awesome new arena which while many may not think pretty on the outside has a distinct and unique character just as Brooklyn. I love the new herringbone designed court and the seating is done in what appears a deep vertical slant so the acoustics for an amazing home team fan support looks like it will be incredible! Across from the historic Williamsburg tower it will quickly become an iconic everyday part of Brooklyn. Best yet in the front of the plaza entering the arena is a flagpole from the original Ebbets Field which will grace the entrance with a connection to the great historic sports past of Brooklyn history. The best to the General, coach Avery Johnson and his first Brooklyn Nets club...highlighted by point guard Deron Williams, off guard Joe Johnson, center Brook Lopez, small forward Gerald Wallace and power forward Kris Humphries!..|

I am not a basketball ball, but i decided i will route for the Nets when they come to Brooklyn. I am excited for them and the new stadium and what it can do for the area.

So they cancelled what was supposed to be an awesome opening game, for understandable reasons, but keep that marathon? I dont get it.

^ You might if you were a marathon runner...

Good they cancelled the Marathon. Wise choice.

On the Nets, it's going to be interesting. I think they have a decent chance to make the playoffs.

I think it was a good call postponing the season opener, as well as the Marathon. The opener just simply because it was too soon...the Marathon because it was taking valuable equipment and supplies from devastated flooding victims in NYC especially Staten Island, Brooklyn and Queens who needed it desperately. As it was the Marathon was cancelled so late as the needed generators and such either never got to those in need or took days to be put in place where needed... Mayor Bloomberg's appalling lack of priorities just infuriate and confound.

Great first game and win in Brooklyn for the Nets with point guard Deron Williams scoring the first bucket in the new arena and for the newest incarnation of the Nets organization Saturday evening. Great effort by center Brook Lopez scoring 27 points and key performances to get a 107-100 win over the Toronto Raptors by reserves CJ Watson and Reggie Evans. Evans especially helped set the pace being a bull inside defensively and grabbing a game high 13 rebounds.
