Am I the only one who doesn't "get" his movies?

I previously had only seen "Hustler White" ..... My first impression was this guy does porn and tries to cover it as "art" and/or political messages....

I decided to give him another shot and rented "Raspberry Reich"
Needless to say this is another movie trying to be "political" but coming off as a total porn movie... it contained more cock sucking and fucking than some real porn movies I had seen all with flashing red and black images that would make an epileptic go into a fit in seconds...

Now I have given him 2 chances to try and win me over and all I was left with was a feeling of being majorly ripped off....

The writing is worse than John Waters old stuff
The acting is horrendous
The cinematography is atrocious

Can anyone else either:
A) tell me if I'm not the only one who finds his movies complete garbage
or
B) Explain how his movies are supposed to be effective,

I saw hustler white and i didnt like it, basically porn tied up with an artistic ribbon and passed off as an arthouse movie, and not a good one at that. JMO

I am currently watching Raspberry Reich and am shocked. It is practically just a porn with the message of with sex comes revolution. The message is simple enough, and I agree that most people keep pigeon-held and don't explore the freedom that sexuality opens up, but there were better ways to do it than make a porn and throw in annoying flashing signs in a subliminal manner, that, as you put it, would throw an epileptic into a fit. Mind you, I'm really only about 30 minutes into the movie.

The acting is supposed to be horrendous apparently. It so far is pretty funny though. I loved the old couple that condemned the couple having sex in the elevator, but then wound up giving into their sexual desires and fucking in the kitchen after getting home.

Well, watching it, it kinda grew on me. Yeah it was porn to an obscene degree, but as I watched it became more and more charming and funny. I'm grateful they cast pretty attractive guys to pull of the sex, because I don't know how long I would have sat through it, funny or not, if I had to watch slobs (I know, shallow right) fuck and suck. I loved Gudrun, though she was annoying at times, but the way she controlled her men was hilarious. I'm overall pleased with the movie, but it wouldn't be something I would recommend to many people unless they want hardcore porn with comedy (I can't really classify it as softcore, because there was nothing soft about the sex lol).

i relaly love his stuff... not the usual hollywood gay crap you normally see but i guess its hard for the mainstream gay to understand and relate to his queer punk movies

However, when you consider that Cazzo Film - a German Gay Porn Company - has mainstream movies for sale on Amazon.com, it is kinda revolutionary.

Also, I knew most of the "actors" in Bruce LaBruce's movies from their videos with Cazzo Film. I'm sure all of the Cazzo models have something of fan base in Europe and to a lesser degree in America.

Bruce LaBruce has a new movie which apparently was shown at Sundance. One reviewer describes it as a Gay Porn Zombie Movie. The movie is called "Otto: Up with Dead People".
