Last night's Grammy awards highlight: CBS Cares commercial. Anyone else see it? Perfect Valentines Day ad encourages men to do a TSE as a VD gift to their loved ones. "After all, why give diamonds when you can give the family jewels?"

Perfect tag line!!

I'm starting a revolution! The fifteenth of every month will be Buddy Ball Check Day!

I never really know what I am looking for when I'm doing a self-examination as I was never taught very well.

Would it be inappropriate to have a doctor check for me?/ teach me how to? I would feel weird asking as I'm in my 20s.

They do that automatically during a physical exam. By the way, generally speaking, testicular cancer is a disease of the young, less so the old, so 20 is most definitlely not too early to be aware of this.

For guys in their teens and 20s, we usually recommend a self-exam about once a month- it generally only takes about a minute and it's something you can do in the shower.

The video below shows the basics of how to do a self-exam. And the model is not bad to look at either.

Thanks for posting the video here! The same one is attached to the blog in my signature...

Ooooo.... Generally Speaking... You're correct, but ball cancer knows no real age discrimination... Men over 50 have been diagnosed.

Men should learn to do a self-exam and do it once monthly on Buddy Ball Check Day - and then contact a buddy and make sure he's done his.

^No doubt. I am 52 and my PCP still does ball checks. It is something the over-the-hill-crowd still needs to think about.
