Buffeting

I find the buffeting effect of a standard fan very comforting. It is more natural, like wind.

A cool steady sea breeze can be amazing on a hot day. If it's quieter, that could be good too. I generally find fans annoying, I get buffeted enough.

I think I have noticed it and it annoys me. It feels like someone is turning the fan on and off really fast.

I would buy one of those but not for that price as I wouldn't use it enough but after seeing the balloon video I'm tempted to buy loads of them.

They have low average customer ratings on Amazon - 2 - 3 stars out of 5.

Way over priced like all of Dyson's stuff. Technology for technology's sake. I'll take a $20 fan.

I've seen one of the Dyson fans. It amazed me just because I don't understand how it works. I was tempted to buy one for the novelty. It felt, however, just like a regular fan...so I kept my money and took my boyfriend to Fogo de Cao...TWICE.

BLAH BLAH BLAH ----------------
This is not new --

There's this thing called the Internet -- and GOOGLE -- and you can find lots of stuff there --

Like Consumer Reports articles
DYSON does NOT get good marks for ANYTHING they make.
Bottom line
Our engineers might have joined the Dyson Air Multiplier fan club—except for the high price. Generally, panelists found that the Dyson generated a smooth, uninterrupted airflow, but they felt that one of our comparison fans did that, too; and most panelists found those two fans equally pleasing. The Dyson is easily adjusted with a tilt of the tower, is easy to clean, and is safe, because there are no blades. The moving part (called the impeller) is inside the cylindrical base and is inaccessible. But you'll save a good $264.99 by buying a conventional fan.

Pass the LoMein !!

Tried to amend my carnivorous habits
Made it nearly seventy days
Losin' weight without speed, eatin' sunflower seeds
Drinkin' lots of carrot juice and soakin' up rays

But at night I'd had these wonderful dreams
Some kind of sensuous treat
Not zucchini, fettuccine or Bulgar wheat
But a big warm bun and a huge hunk of meat

Cheeseburger in paradise (paradise)
Heaven on earth with an onion slice (paradise)
Not too particular not too precise (paradise)
I'm just a cheeseburger in paradise
