someone kicking vampire ass, i'm in. it would be interesting(to me) to see this idea taken to a darker place. i'd see it. depending on who is directing it and who the actors are. maybe wait for it on dvd?

One thing I don't get is this "darker place" business. Isn't Buffy dark already? How much darker could it be? ...While it still features a main character named "Buffy"?

I mean, there was the Buffy in "The Wish" but that Buffy was only interesting because she was so cold and humorless compared to the real Buffy.

I find Buffy to be pretty gritty and dark already. The fact that it had humor only added substance and didn't take away from any of that.

I can just imagine the cast for this "re-imagining":

Blake Lively as Buffy.

Okay i just had to register to put my 2cents in.

:grrr::grrr::grrr:How could they just forget the last episodes of both shows. its a perfect time to add it in. they can go darker with this & stick to it. Imagine how much drama Buffy & Angel fighting to finally have eachother.

& if im not mistaken. The same fucking bitch that fucked up the first movie is in charge of the new one too. Am i right or wrong?

I would be interested in watching the new one if its badass. But I will sacrifice myself and wait till i can download it illegally to not promote this abomination....

I really don't wanna say this.... but the other girl thats in gossip girl... you know... brown haired pretty one i think would be a good buffy personality. Imagine it.

Whats funny is I had to remodel my room around & was forced to take down my posters. FINALLY. Its part of growing up that I couldnt part with.

BUFFY the Vampire Slayer

1997 -2003

BELOVED SHOW

IT ENTERTAINED THE WORLD

A LOT

And now with the sad reality:

Rumors have it Buffy will be played by Megan Fox. There is an article about this... trying to find it.

My dream team:

Xander = John Cho or Mario Lopez. To promote diversity.

Willow = Miley Cyrus. Will not be a lesbian in this movie in order to reach to more audiences and boost sales. Instead of magic, Willow Cyrus will battle the undead with pop songs, glitter and Jesus.

Giles = Tina Fey or Morgan Freeman

Cordelia = Zac Efron

Angel = Jesse Melcalfe

Spike = Daniel Radcliffe

Drusilla = Susan Boyle

Oz = Joe Jonas

Anya = Jennifer Aniston Special Guest Appearance

Dawn = Danny Devito in a wig Special Guest Appearance

Joyce Summers = Tila Tequila

it is too funny (well not really funny more like sad) that they shovel this pile of horse crap. Then honestly think that people will run out and watch it like it's 24k gold or get all excited like "ooh its a Buffy!!!! yeah lets all go see this IT's gonna be awesome". ](*,)

I read about this. They're seriously considering franchising the hell out of it if they made a movie.

The logic really makes no sense. Star Trek only works because the original series was several decades ago. None of the original actors can play their original counterparts as younger versions of themselves and the mythos is so old that it can be creatively retooled.

Buffy, on the other hand, is only 5 or 6 years old AND still has the canonical Season 8 going on in the comics.

I don't see how you can retool Buffy while all the original cast are still active and come up with something that would be meaningful enough to somehow launch simultaneous franchises.

They have NO intention of including any of the original characters and though they haven't ruled out Joss Whedon, they haven't asked him either if he wants to be involved.

It just sounds like such a doomed attempt to make some cash.

I so agree with this.

The only reason why the Star Trek Remake thingy works is because half of the original crew are either dead or to old to perform hence the remake.

Buffy on the other hand not so much. So I don't really see how that is going to work.
