I just can't imagine a sandwich with that many ingredients.

I can't imagine having a mouth big enough to eat a sandwich with that many ingredients. Or stomach, either, for that matter.

Have you seen me? I am a pretty big guy. Also it is not like you pile a pound of each thing on the sub.

Do you have a favorite sub?

My ex-boyfriend's special sub was the best. It was any Subway sandwich that he would add "special sauce" to. I wonder if any future bf would be willing to make it.

A sub is only as good as its ingredients. You need to start with great bread and very high quality meats and cheese. Jersey Mike's does subs better than anybody else I know, I usually go for the #5 or #13

#5 The Super Sub

White sub bread
Provolone
Ham
Prosciuttini
Cappacuolo
Lettuce
A few banana peppers and onions
Spicy/Dijon mustard
Light on the olive oil, vinegar, and oregano

#13 The Original Italian, also tasty, bit more of the fat meats. Same sandwich as a #5 but it has salami and pepporoni on it as well. Main thing when ordering at jersey mikes is to tell the guy making your sandwich not to go overboard with the toppings, as if you just say "onions", well they put a metric shit-ton of them on there.

As for stuff I can easily make at my house, I have a couple of favorites:

The after thanksgiving/christmas roll is to die for

Leftover roll, preferably home-made, sliced in half
Leftover turkey or leftover ham(we always have turkey on thanksgiving, ham on christmas and easter)
Slice of swiss cheese
Spicy brown mustard

Also I love a good grilled cheese:

Sort of generic whole wheat bread, something that won't get soggy/go soft
1 slice very sharp cheddar cheese
2 slices of ham
1 slice of colby or colby jack

Coat bread with real butter, might need to warm the butter in the microwave for a few seconds or let it sit out for 15 minutes so you can easily spread it. Throw it in a warm pan with the stove set on med low, about 3 to 5. Key to this is having the right bread that won't get limp and can soak up some grease.

Has to be at Harrys Hofbrau..been eating there for over 40 years....

Grilled Rye
Corned Beef
Swiss Cheese
Sauerkraut
Horseradish

Perfect....

I guess that isn't a sub though..a sub has too much bread I think. I don't eat them.

Agreed. I have only been there twice because they are spendy, but I love their crusty bread. I go for a #8. I do wish they would carry more toppings though.

#1 toast lightly buttered

#2 a simple flattened out cheeseburger from the bottom of the bag

I just don't get excited about food. In fact, I find having to eat a nuisance. I like most any grub you can put in a bowl and eat with a spoon – quickly.

I was like that as a kid. I always said if someone came up with a pill that allowed me not to eat I would take it. Now I love food. Being a foodie is great fun.
