Build me your perfect sub sandwich

Ok...so first you need a 14 inch extra crusty loaf of semolina bread(slightly over baked to retain some crunch after putting on the dressing)

Also...semolina bread bread should have plenty of sesame seeds on top,and a bit of yellow cornmeal crust on the bottom.....

You need...

4 ounces good quality genoa salami(sliced paper thin)
4 ounces good quality boiled ham (sliced thin)
4 ounces good quality capicola
4 ounces good quality sharp provolone cheese(sharp/not that no flavor rubber tire crap)
1/2 head shredded iceberg lettuce
1 medium red ripe tomato sliced thin
1/4 red onion(paper thin slices)

Wisk together...

4 ounces extra virgin olive oil
4 ounces red wine vinegar
1 teaspoon dried oregano (salt & pepper to taste)
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

Slice bread in half...

Spoon a bit of dressing over both sides of bread, arrange salami,ham,capicola,cheese,lett-tom-onion...spoon the rest of the dressing over meats and more dressing on the top half.
Put top of bread on,and push down on sandwich to hold in place.Cut in three pieces and arrange nicely on a plate. Grab a liter of ice cold Coca Cola, napkins, and the Dust Buster.

Grab tv remote...
Sit in recliner and munch until entire sandwich and soda are done.Burp loudly.

Or something like that.... :)

Just wait till I ^ post my recipe for my world famous Broccoli Focaccia with sauteed cabbage, hard boiled eggs, and a spicey cauliflower pinto bean dipping sauce.

All that in one sandwich strikes me as gross. :vomit:

It's just a club sub. I don't get the big deal.

I think I'm in love. I'm not sure if it is with Vannie or the sub though.

Near classic Italian American sub Vannie--can't believe u can fit the whole thing in your mouth---at least -the oil vinegar and oregano make it very healthy---no Mayo!!!:p

There was a great place that did something like this in my college town. Delicious. And a big affordable meal for a co-ed.

You very conveniently left out the lettuce, tomato and onions(three servings of vegetables right there [-X ) And...Coca cola made from Coca leaves, thats like another vegetable there...

A white crusty bun, buttered, a touch of mustard and sliced kolbasa. Yum!!

Here' a question for you guys. Do you ever put butter on your sandwiches? My fella never does but I always do. He says it must be a Canadian thing because no one ever does this in America. Is that so?

My mom use to butter hers. She loved butter for some reason.
