Bus sex acts were for sports team initiation

A tempest in a tea pot. This is the sort of thing that should be met with a stiff reprimand and a fine. It's not right, and of course other people should not have to see it, male or female. But it does make the world seem a little overly delicate to lay criminal charges, ruin careers, and run around wringing our hands about the end of morality.

At first I assumed that this had happened on a team bus, or a chartered bus.

This taking place on a local bus, with a designated route which is used by the general public, definitely seems inappropriate to me.

If this had been confined to the university community, I would agree no criminal charges would be in order. But to have sex in public where minors might see you is a crime, period.

The full article, plus a pic of three of them leaving court, on The Sun newspaper website....

And on the 17-year-old girls....

I can't really blame them for becoming uncomfortable when a load of drunken lads are harrassing them.

It was probably the verbal stuff and the intimidation that upset them too.

Just because a scenario has gay fantasy potential, doesn't really excuse disrespectful behaviour, in my opinion.
I wonder if any of the commenters in this thread have entertained the possibility that these girls may have been afraid of being raped. When drunk guys start acting out sexually, it's perfectly reasonable for young defenseless women (especially in a confined space from which they can't escape) to feel threatened.

Bitsy, did you miss the parts about top of double decker public bus? A

gaggle of four (04) girls and NUMEROUS OTHERS involved in the incident?

Or are some of us just to numb from the media over blowing catastrophes

like Princess Kate having a bad hair day at the Races? mea culpa.

Lefty, you described exactly the "why" of what LilBit said. The girls were essentially trapped and surrounded.

No, I didn't miss that, and I honestly have no idea what your point is.

My point was they were drunk and disorderly on the back seat of a bus and
handcuffed to one another. How likely of a rapist can you be with your pants
around your ankles and handcuffed to another drunken lout.

While their behavior was reprehensible and churlish, it would seem that the
trapped and defenseless would be more correctly applied to them. Take a
friend, handcuff up and drop trou around ankles...now, imagine you and friend,
drunk as lords trying to stand up on a moving bus (topside) and force rape on
to Four 17 year olds.
My only point was not the right or wrong of the act..it was the Slegehammer like
response to a thumb tack scenario.I got pissed as it kindles a recent event here.
Young man got hit by train on high speed tracks. He was trespassing and had his
ipod or whatever in ears, first report..media said TRAIN HITS YOUNG BOY....later,
quiet details. 2 days earlier. MAN HIT BY RT TRAIN in Critical Condition....made it
sound like driver at fault. truth, man was trying to commit suicide and jumped.
Media didn't cover that anywhere near as loud...if at all.....apples and oranges
but the principle is the same.

Poor girls.

But personally, I don't see the connection between public sex display with the spirit of sports...except for the fact that most porn scene are shot on the locker rooms...

The whole case is terribly irrelevant one to another.

Seems OTT to me. A bunch of guys playing the fool - were they REALLY having oral sex? I'd be surprised.

Anyway, I think the response was a little too heavy.

-d-

If they were suckin dick on a public bus then throw the book at them. PERIOD.

Just being gay doesnt give any of us the right to trespass on someone else's personal space. I would be vocal and press charges if a couple breeder were either sucking dick or eating the muff on the bus seat in front of me.

Hello there BBN .
(UU)
We agree on the above EH?
:##:(*S*):##:
Hence my Sledgehammer/Thumb tack analogy.

Lefty, I think LilBit is looking at the OTHER drunken teammates on the bus, who were making comments and telling the girls they should join in.
Exactly. It wasn't just a few guys acting out; it was, as far as I can tell, a sexually-charged atmosphere all around, and any woman, whether she's 17 or 70, could find that atmosphere threatening.

There is an error in the news reportage. No way these three are athletes.

Hey hey hey Mr. Jay
As of this time this very day
no one claimed those boys are gay
I think they ought to have to pay
but not lose all and the right to play
I am done and that is all I'm gonna say.

Don't those stupid chicks and that still more stupid judge know boys are made for sex? Don't they know there is only one thing in life that is not shocking, viz. boys having sex, all the rest (I have said ALL) is plainly shocking. Read Cioran's "De l' inconvénient d' être né".

The BBC did a documentary called, "Male Bonding, Rugby Style" and in it, a team of young male rugby players go bar hopping, kiss each other, expose themselves, the team captain takes his pants completely off while another player jerks him on a dance floor... and nobody called the cops. Hell, they put it (uncensored) on TV!

PS. Bearboi, do you have a link to the BBC production?

Welcome to the British drink culture. ;)

I don't really find all of the drunken antics to be that much of a turn-on, to be honest. Despite the inferred male bonding, I think they're all quite obviously straight, and it's all just fuelled by pint after pint after pint of beer. I'd prefer to see SOBER antics, like the brief shower scenes, but because they're level-headed at that point, you won't get much overt sexual stuff there.

The only positive thing I can say is that they're very relaxed and open-minded about the 'gay' stuff they did when they watch it (sober) afterwards. ..|

But their boozing party lifestyle just isn't my scene at all.

Why on Earth did that article reveal their names? Besides the fact that they are underage, it's almost like they're hoping those students will get bullied.

If this had happened on a bus I was driving, you can be assured I would have taken matters in hand. :-)
