yah... he assumed Hillary was going to win. That is incredible!!

and he nailed both Palin AND mcCain mercilessly....

Obama was hardly a blip on his radar aparently

there goes assuming a black man can't win the office of the president

To be fair, few people thought Obama would beat Hillary. Without knowing when Bush said it, too, its hard to say whether it was made at the very beginning of the primaries when Obama hardly stood a chance.

His comments about Biden are also pretty astute, especially since Bush was portrayed as a bumbling fool for most of his presidency.

As usual the 85 misses the real issue here which is ...............

the speech writer is lame

you take the job you should have some integrity

and keep your mouth shut

none of this is anything but national enquirer/access hollywood/mtv bullshit

as for his comments:

the one about hillary was nasty - the rest were dead on

There's been this movement to make Bush more sympathetic and rationalize that Cheney did all the cauldron duties. I guess these revelations will change Bush's perception in history.

And again, here shows that despite of McCain's humility and support for the party, Bush still sandbags him on a daily basis. He's a frat boy with no respect for anyone.

And chance1, if I get a shitty boss, I will smile throughout the next job interview and after that I will complain about the worst, genocidal human being I worked for. He's not a robot that can be put back on a crate, he's human resource. If this guy complained about Obama you'll probably organize a Larry Craig party to celebrate.

bush and mccain were clearly not buddies

mccain hated him for the south carolina primary hatchet job perpetrated by bush's goons

as for bush's comment about getting 500 people to show up in his home town ............. he's right

i don't get the sense this book is about righting wrongs or speaking the truth about real issues - just gossip

as for "fucking troll" ........................... u get bonus points from the 85 ;)

make sure to collect from u know who

but if u check YOUR last paragraph it makes no fucking sense whatsoever

so u oughta practice what u preach my man

i do think that these people need to sign confidentiality contracts so that there is a time limit to this information. I respect history.

Fuck history. Any man being the president is like United Way spraying Chanel No. 5 on a homeless crack whore. There's a limit, but we have every right to know their flaws.

And besides, he's living in our time. People in the future only have the option of thinking that the past governments were like Mount Olympus, like we do when we think of Washington and Roosevelt.

And start writing some paragraphs, goddamit!

You don't think Obama, Axelrod and Rahm sit in the oval office disrespecting their political opponents? You don't think that they speak ill of those that oppose their agenda?

Bush is entitled to his opinion, and to be perfectly frank, his opinions were dead on. Thinking these things in private (as these were very clearly stated in private) is very different than saying them in an interview. I would wager that, even as he's out of office, Bush would refrain from making these types of remarks in public.

chance1: People have the right to talk about their bosses. I'm not perfect in reading comprehension, so I totally shouldn't have expected it from everyone.

Droid800: I just feel bad for McCain. I think the reason why he can't attract 500 people is because of the black baby rumours that Georgie spread about him.

And when "Obama, Axelrod and Rahm" poke fun of Mary Cheney's bulbous vagina, post a thread.

Yes and no. I just think those guys are infallible. Do you think they're infallible?

I always thought Bush had a caustic sense of humor in private. I mean his nickname for Karl Rove was "turd blossom". You gotta love that.

I think it's a real sign of immaturity to assume that just because someone was a shitty president, everything about him had to be loathsome.

I don't think he had any problem with gay people, either. He was quite friendly with Barney Frank's boyfriend when they went to the White House together.

So much for being a compassionate conservative.

So integrity and the truth are mutually exclusive? The American public has the right to get a clear and accurate picture of one of its leaders. Same goes for Obama when he's through.

You're kind of indicting Bush with you defense, anyway. Are you saying anything he said was that damning? You said yourself that it's largely accurate, so what's the problem with putting it out there?

the problem is that these conversations were personal in nature - not meant for publication

they were "off the record" and should be treated as such

the snitch or writer has no integrity IMO

I agree with the no integrity part. However you have to choose who it is you are open with and who you keep in the dark.

As far as bitching about vacations....the POTUS is never disconnected in Texas, Martha Vinyard or the far east. He still receives the phone book report every morning. So does it really matter whether it is accomplished in the swamp of DC or on the shores of Hawaii?

The job never stops.I relaize you dont get it and just need something to complain about. So have at it.

oh so you attack typing. Very juvenile.

The job doesnt stop at fifty thousand feet or in the middle of anywhere on earth.

That renders your argument mute.

Maybe it's just me, but I find it hard to believe he said any of this. I mean, for four years, he spoke like a kindergardner with Down syndrome and now all of a sudden we get these coherent, scathing comments? I don't buy it. Sorry Dubya.

Well as you both have clearly taken the meaning, I commend you on your deductive skills.

Again however as you two argue about the validity of post, you seem to have wondered off the topic. Tsk. Tsk.

So it seems we are at the point where at least Toriko agrees that the job can be accomplished anywhere however it seems I missed the job description requiring permanent location of the Prez being in the swamps of D.C.

If you could please post the line of the US Constitution that demands the President make every decsion from D.C.

That should clear it up nicely.

It has nothing to do with my party. That is your claim to fame. Not mine.

So your argument now changes to it is more expensive to guard the man while not in D.C.

I also guess you are insinuating that due to a vacation in Crawford, TX that TX receives unfair favoritism?

He is connected and doing the job no mater where he is located. End of argument.

Did you know there was connectivity around the world? It is amazing.
