How long do you think the planet has left ?

Some say the planet will outlast us like it did the dinosaurs, i'm not so sure, global warming. nuclear war, crashing asteroids, how do you think it'll all end ?

I like to think that planet Earth will still be around long after humanity has gone the way of the dinosaurs. :D

I am optimistic and think that the world will be around hundreds more years.

I'm not worried about the earth, it will continue regardless. The real question is whether human beings and all other living things will be able to survive. Will our human activities end up killing ourselves and destroy our environment, to make it uninhabitable? With climate change, nuclear war, poisoning and polluting our environment, inability to control our population, etc., will we be able to survive as a species?

Perhaps the human race is nature's attempt to evolve a species which attains a true level of consciousness, and us humans may be about to fail miserably. Perhaps our time has come, and soon will be gone. But if some life forms can manage to survive the millennia and eons it will take for nature to undo the destruction humanity has inflicted upon the planet, there may yet evolve another life form with the opportunity to become sentient beings. Maybe the porpoises, birds, great apes, whales, dogs, or whatever, will eventually get their chance to be "one with the gods."

You can bet that we will do everything in our power to preserve our own species as our world becomes uninhabitable. Our last-ditch attempt might be to install underground labs filled with human embryos or DNA samples. Hundreds of years after human life on earth becomes untenable, aliens that had been too smart to visit because we'd been so violent and comparatively stupid during our reign here will discover these labs and destroy them not out of malice, but for the good of the planet and the universe beyond.

Another scenario might explain why we spend kazillions of dollars dicking around in space while our planet crumbles: starting a new civilization on Mars or on spaceships or satellites, biding our time for generations while we wait for the earth to heal enough for us to return and resume trashing it. Of course these space colonies would be made up of the wealthy elite (this is why they hoard more money than they could ever use in a million lifetimes), all Caucasian, of course. Yes, that should be a hoot. They'll find out soon enough that without poor people or other races, they will have no one to do their labor, no one to oppress, and their little solar society will implode.

Sorry Cormac I wil take my chances that the world will finallly have global warming stopped , that is the only thing that can destroy us in the years ahead.

The Furbies will rise up against their masters and have their revenge.

And you´re worried about the [STRIKE]negros[/STRIKE] People of Color...

I am looking forward to the end of the Human era.

The world could use a break.

That probably won't be too far off. When all the natural resources have been used up, and most of the other lifeforms have been wiped out, humanity, or what's left of it, will be right back in the stone age again.

At least what's left of planet Earth might have a chance then. :D
