Re: CA Prop 8-Gay Marriage Ban - news and alerts

Thought this might make someone's day....

Note: Although I respect the right of any group to do as they want, I thought it was a great idea to target the State/Religion issue...

Face it, we will never have rights.

Re: CA Prop 8-Gay Marriage Ban - news and alerts

Interesting.

They are saying this is a great day to put behind slavery and look forward to the future and Dr. Martin's dream is realized.

Yet gay people still don't have the rights we deserve.

Is his dream really realized?

Then again. CA isn't done yet so no reason to treat the unknown as the truth.

Re: CA Prop 8-Gay Marriage Ban - news and alerts

Will someone please post the Prop. 8 Numbers. I'm at the Dem. Headquarters in my state so I can't change the t.v. and my PDA won't pull up the state by state votes on CNN.com It keeps getting hung up. Does anyone have the numbers for the other states which are opposing gay marriage and/or non-married adoption rights?

Re: CA Prop 8-Gay Marriage Ban - news and alerts

Yeah I just saw that stacy.

But it's not over until the results are in.

Re: CA Prop 8-Gay Marriage Ban - news and alerts

It's only 6% reporting. and the bay area has yet to report in. but it will be very close no doubt..

Re: CA Prop 8-Gay Marriage Ban - news and alerts

Thanks for the numbers!

I'm surprised....but it's not over guys!

Re: CA Prop 8-Gay Marriage Ban - news and alerts

Ya'll weren't kidding... this is gonna be close!

CNN is showing 55-45 in favor, with 6% of precincts reporting. Not time to start moving to Canada just yet...

Re: CA Prop 8-Gay Marriage Ban - news and alerts

I wish I could have been in California to vote NO, but you can only vote once and I did so here in Virginia. :(

Re: CA Prop 8-Gay Marriage Ban - news and alerts

The Republican counties in California always report first. I remmeber 4 years ago Bush was in the lead in California for quite a while, and in the 2002 gubernational race Bill Simon seemed like he was beating Gray Davis, but then the Bay Area counties came in. If we lose (which we are in Arkansas, Florida) we can thank all those closeted glory hole pigs..

Re: CA Prop 8-Gay Marriage Ban - news and alerts

Alpha the California Prop 4 on Abortion rights is 50/50 right now. Same percentage of precincts in. That's the only one I know about right now.

I know that Florida's Prop 2 Gay Marriage bill was a win on the YES side (bad for gays) and so was the one in Arkansas.

Thanks again for the numbers. I'm not surprised w/ FL or AR, but if CA doesn't pull through, it will certainly kill morale. I suspect (but certainly do not know) that the crts will intervene again. The language of the prop. was very, very tricky and the name of the prop. caused confusion. The vote Yes ads also told blatant lies.

It was the crts, not the legislature, that led us to integration. Maybe that's what it'll take again. Of course, the majority of the Circuits are conservative right now but w/ Obama as President, I'm hoping that he'll be able to appoint a more forward thinking Supreme Crt Justice.

I really want Prop. 8 to fail. CA got the most publicity out of the three states and our GSA kids have just been on edge all week waiting for the results. They really want to believe....I don't know. I guess believe that the world cares about them. Considers them equal. They did a fundraiser for the campaign and have poured their little hearts into it. CA is supposed to be one of our most liberal states. I still have hope.
