California is Broke

75% polled thought is was a fitting service for him. Sorry you in the 25% but thanks everyone for fitting the bill, it was really beautiful.

Oh and I'm going to donate a few dollars, not because I care for you or your state, but because I would like to show my respect to their family no matter how much money they have.

As I said before California's show business industry is the biggest in the nation. Cost of stuff like this go along with the territory. It's the cost of doing business. You live in the wrong city if you don't like this. Does every movie premiere every week foot the bill for public security? Does every award ceremony foot the bill for theirs?

Events like these are few and far between.

And agree with the poster that said he gets you're point but really it's a guise so you can spew hate about MJ. If you don't like what California is doing, then move to a state where they wouldn't even entertain doing this.

i wish the memorial was bigger, longer and more great singers on stage to entertain. Who ever don't want this is just sooooo jealoussss !!!! ;)

Stacy, you don't realize how much of a positive influence MJ has had in the world.
Much of that influence was outside the USA.
The memorial service was worth every penny. You might not understand, but it was.
I haven't been a fan and haven't been affected personally by Michael Jackson because I never followed that genre of music very much, but I can recognize that crowds and crowds of other people have and in a good way.

Michael Jackson's popularity coincided with a hopeful time in the world's history, the time when the Berlin Wall came down.
It is foolish to tear that up.

Easy solution: MJ fan websites can pass the hat.

But then you couldn't bitch about it. Until the above happens, enjoy! ;)
