Calling All Curs: Alfie Hunts for bin-forgotten bin-Laden

Don't be simple.....Bin Laden is dead.
IS BIN LADEN DEAD OR ALIVE?
by Amir Taheri
Gulf News
March 14, 2007

Last Saturday marked Osama Bin Laden's 50th birthday. However, instead of the fugitive cutting any cakes in the company of friends, the occasion inspired fresh speculation about his fate.

"May God have mercy upon him," commented one of his nephews, using the Arab formula reserved only for reference to the dead.

When the Pakistani military captured Mullah Obaidallah Akhund recently, one of their first questions was: Where is Osama Bin Laden?

The mullah should have known. As defence minister in the Taliban government, he had been Bin Laden's controller until December 2001 when the terror mastermind vanished.

According to Pakistani sources, Obaidallah claimed that Bin Laden was "alive and well". However, when asked whether anyone had seen him, the mullah was less certain.

"I know of no one," he replied.

IS BIN LADEN DEAD OR ALIVE?

That's completely irrelevant to Bush's failure at catching him but an interesting read anyhow, thanks.

Now you and I have discussed Amir Tehari - He is not to be trusted, remember??? Benador Associates? Big fat lie in the National Post? Benador admitting it was a big fat lie her PR team came up with? Come on you and I have been through this already, the man is as trustworthy as Ahmed Chalabi.

Regardless the article is oped and is extremely convining when you actually look at the reality of Bin Laden's exposure and the change of the al quaida Jihadist movement.

IRT other people's opinions that the point does not matter concerning Bush is blinded by hate. The search, the lives cost, the toll on troops and the shear ignorance of searching for a dead man makes a policy based on such lunacy akin to christianity.

He'll probably be "found" and served up as the October Surprise to give the floundering Republicans a boost.

Once a man's credibility has been shown to be nonexistant, nothing he says will hold water with me.

Now that does not mean I am not willing to accept the fact Bin Laden might just be dead. Who knows? I sure don't. But it will take more than a snake-oil salesman like Taheri to convince me that he is.

People like you and others here tend to criticise me because I hate the New York Post and, well, anything that Murdoch churns out, because you think I am being strictly partisan. I assure you I am not.

It is simply that the sources upon whom these people rely are and always have been completely unreliable and ouright liars who are often paid for their lies and then paraded around as experts. This is thoroughly dishonest on the part of Murdoch, Ailes and their cronies and they know it but just don't care. This is why I will NEVER believe ANYTHING that comes from those people.

I actually used to think that too, but if that were going to happen it would have happened before the last election...at least that's what I would do if I were them. (And I thank GOD I am not...)

^ Remember though, Carl Rove was confident that the Republicans would prevail in the '06 elections so if my conspiracy theory is correct then they are saving him for '08.

It still wouldn't help them, though. Everyone is aware that the Republicans are morally bankrupt as well as bankrupt of any ideas on moving the country forward. 2008 is definitely for the Democrats!(!)
