Hi, I read the coming out section a lot, because many stories are similar to mine and I'm so thankful for the guys that come on here to give advice. I have been coming to terms with being gay over the last few months and it has been almost solely this site that has helped me gain confidence in who I am, in regards to my sexuality. Yesterday, I finally came out to someone. It was a friend of mine and she was wonderful about it. She was excited and hugged me and I know she will be there to help with whatever comes next. I know there are countless threads like this, but just wanted to say thank you anyway. I hope everyone else who is still to come out has an experience as pleasant and smooth as mine was.

Good for you. It's a very tough thing for many people to do. I'm happy to know that you had good results. You have a good friend in the person that you chose to talk to first about this.

Those countless threads you mentioned are the fabric that make up this place. It does not diminish the fact that this is YOUR story. Congratulations to you, I'm very proud of you and I'm very happy that you have a friend you can confide in. There will be ups and downs, but those 'ups' will make it all worth while. oh yeah speaking of coming out... I came out to my friend april... she is sucha sitz so she still don't understand...

it just FLEW right by her... no landing or anything

What a great story--thanks for posting it! Congratulations on doing what you needed and wanted to do. The first one is always the toughest. I'm very happy for you, and delighted that JUB could be part of what gave you inspiration to do this.

In light of tomorrow being Coming Out Day, it's interesting to reflect on the impact the internet has had on the coming out process. No matter where he lives or what his background is, a guy can find this place, figure out he's not alone and even get advice on how to move forward from others who have been there.
