Yes, my mistake. The reigning Monarch and their consorts are referred to as their Majesties. One more reason, I think, why Camilla will be Queen.
...That Princess Elizabeth chose a Greek prince to be her husband indicates that she has good taste.....
He was handsome back in 47.
Many of us are pf British descent, so this is our heritage and culture as well. I collect English coins and like to read English history.(I can't help but be amused by all you non-British queens being so obsessed by the minutia of other people's monarchs)

Prince Philip is Greek with the added benefit of Danish, and German bloodlines making a truly international cocktail.
That Princess Elizabeth chose a Greek prince to be her husband indicates that she has good taste..perhaps evidence of her own bloodline being truly international.
The little Englander might well consider that Queen Elizabeth 11 is also head of state of many other Commonwealth realms.
Philip was stunning and Elizabeth clearly has good taste.
Philip was also a gifted naval officer with an enviable war record that ensured his rapid promotion.
If she is given the title of queen, then she would be addressed as Your Majesty. How would that sit with the people?
Another factor is that Charles will be the constitutional monarch and chief of state of, I think eight countries. There will be some pressure in some countries to abandon the monarchy when Elizabeth is gone. Charles will not want the title of queen or address your majesty to add discomfort. I doubt if she will be given the title of queen or use that title. Nor will she be addressed as Your Majesty.
Actually there are 53 countries in the Commonwealth.
Popularity of the Royal family seems to ebb and flow with the British people upon every juicy new article of gossip addressed by The Daily Mail. If the people were consulted on the Monarch at every occasion, they'd elect Rupert himself as monarch.
Actually there are 53 countries in the Commonwealth.
She is official head of state of 16 countries.
Phillip has no greek ancestry. His grandfather was a Danish prince chosen to be king of Greece..
There are, indeed, 53 countries in the commonwealth, but Queen Elizabeth is the head of state of only 16 of them.
Canada is a member of the Commonwealth and Queen Elizabeth is our head of state, which is why we have a Queen's representative (Governor General) to represent her when she is not on Canadian soil.

Is there much movement to end the monarchy in Canada?
