No way, that's beneath a cats. I mean, cat could prolly do it, it would just refuse.

That is one of the coolest .gifs I have seen! Saving that one for another forum.

That's not a cat. :p:gogirl:(!)

It's not a raccoon, either. :p:gogirl:(!)

Johan posted this gif first^

Butt a hamster can do that...where is the rest of the gif that shows the advanced intelligence of a cat? In other words, what does the cat do with the toilet paper other than make a mess? If he takes it outside through a doggy door and papers a tree with it, that would be a neat trick. Because obviously, very few dogs (if any) can climb trees.

Dog= 1

Cat= 0

:lol:

No, because a cat wouldn't lower itself to that pathetic level for food.

Yeah, elitist cats would rather eat rats. :lol:

I find dogs more intelligent than cats when it comes to learning with instruction from people. Dogs were domesticated for many purposes. They were/are used for guarding, herding animals, pulling sleds, helping disabled folk, etc. so basically have evolved over time to be more intelligent because they are supposed to be of some use to people. They are made to learn stuff we teach them.

Cats were domesticated because they helped farmers by killing mice and rats (thus protecting crops), so they were basically welcome around people. They weren't really used for anything else and throughout history there have been times where they have been associated with magic/superstition/black magic/voodoo/witchcraft.

However I find a cat's ability to learn quite amazing in its own right. They can learn how to open doors, use the toilet, etc. I also think that while dogs are smarter cats probably are more clever. They can easily learn something that would benefit them, but they wouldn't bother learning how to fetch the paper for you. I think if left alone without human intervention the cat learns faster on its own than a dog does. But a dog can learn better when taught something by a human.

I meant to say, "Yeah, elitist cats would rather eat live rats than perform the trick in question to make their owner happy. :lol:"

Well put. Cats are definitely clever/cunning, and able to figure things out for themselves just by watching humans do it. For example, they can turn a faucet on to drink water from it, which is something a dog is unlikely to accomplish on his own. So in that respect, a cat thinks a lot like a monkey.

no comment ...

The tape on the head part is especially interesting...and surprising, since cats are so quick to use their front paws for everything. Butt in the video, they never made a single attempt to use their paws to remove the tape from their head...and that's the first thing dogs would do. So that's very weird.

I like the way it looks up at the human after discarding the red one, as though to say, "WTF did you give me that one for...it wouldn't fit, you dummy."

I'm fairly certain that within the next couple of years, my kitten "Dottie" will be ruling the world. You look at her sometimes and you can just see the gears spinning in her head. It scares me sometimes....
Right now she's probably thinking about how best to pay me back for not wishing her and her sisters a happy birthday(4 months old) today.
