Can A Gay Guy Go Bi?

Sorry - didn't mean to say that every gay guy is really BI - just that it can happen.

Also I'd never agree with the idea that people can be "cured" of their sexual orientation - I'd certainly never give up guys - just rather surprised to find that Ive at least go some "BI" in me.

Agree,thanks for the reply.

A lot of men on this board start their adult lives being attracted to women and then as they get older lose that attraction and become attracted to men. Why not the other way around?

For Women there's been some recent research into changes in sexual orientation as they get older.

A study by Christan Moran of Southern Connecticut State University suggested that the change in orientation was a geninue shift and not something that had been there all along and been denied see:

Pinknews - Research suggests late blooming lesbians may change sexual orientation/

So I guess if this is true for women - changes in sexual orientation could equally well be true for guys as well?

Probably not , since women's sexuality have always been known to be more "fluid'. Men, on the whole are far more rigid, with some wiggle room or shifts throughout life, but from gay to straight-no. Towards bi, sure, for some. I'm sure snake oil salesmen both religious and non-religous will try to contest that.

I’d definitely agree that people probably never move all the way from one end of the “Kinsey” scale to the other.

I think the “less fluidity” is rooted in cultural ideas of what a “Real Man” should be and that these are behind the reluctance of many men to admit some same sex attraction.

But I also think that a lot of Gay people strongly hold the idea that sexual desires are fixed at birth as a way of escaping blame (it’s not their fault they were born that way).

In some ways this concept treats being Gay as if it were an affliction. Though possibly a lot of early progress in Gay rights was due to the idea that people can’t be blamed for an accident of birth.

I think most people (a few religious followers excluded) now accept that having sex and being attracted to people of the same gender is in no way wrong. Liking men sexually is something I’d chose for myself and carry on doing as long as I still liked it.

In the same way – as with those of us who have strong desires for particular types of sex (which some call Fetishes) - this isn’t something we’re born with.

It’s more a case of trying out or thinking about something and finding it really sexually exciting.

One sure thing is that the snake oil salesmen (religious or otherwise) won't stop people doing what they like sexually. Look at how unsuccesful Prohibition of alcohol was in the USA and also how equally futile is the "War on Drigs".

Excellent post, AsianDream! ..| :=D:

Apparently, you weren't born with just a dick, but also a brain (that works)! (!) (group)

Keep smilin'!!(*8*)
Chaz :luv:

Chaz is right - you make some great points, AsianDream.

You do have some very valid points. But I am afraid they are weakened at the end by your claim that the war on drigs is/has been a failure. One does not find drigs available on the street, nor is there much of a market for these drigs.

BTW, what exactly are drigs? Are they some kind of animal, or maybe a bacteria or virus?

Rhis is what I found for drigs: http://drigs.thecomicseries.com/
It doesn't really describe what they are though. But the war on them seems to have annihilated them.

Long before I had gay sex at the ripe age of 29, I knew I was strongly, and almost exclusively, attracted to males. I didn't choose this attraction. I've been aware of this all my life, scattered with some opposite sex desires along the way until late high school. My opposite sex desires phased outas I grew older. How more innate can it be? Culture alone cannot stifle same sex attraction if it's there, so nurture cannot explain homosexuality so easily as pro-choice people would have it.

EEK! - defeated by the "War on Typos" :(

Drigs = Drugs – one of the perils of writing in a second language in a hurry :(

I guess if "DRIGS" where prohibited - they to would become as readily available as marijuana (and the FBI Uniform Crime Report survey would also show that 85% of high school seniors find Drigs “easy to obtain”).

Just say NO to drigs!
Aren't I EVIL???

Still don't understand - who's "Scooby Doo" ?

^ You poor dear, victim of substandard education:

from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scooby-Doo_(character)
Scooby has a speech impediment and tends to pronounce most words as if they begin with an "R", though most characters are able to understand him perfectly. In most iterations, he tends to keep his sentences relatively short, usually using charades for anything longer than three or four words. His catch phrase, usually howled at the end of every episode, is "Scooby-Dooby-Doo!" or "Rooby-Rooby-Roo". He also usually says, at least once per episode, "Ruh-roh, Raggy" ("Uh-oh, Shaggy")....

I saw "drigs" and decided to politely overlook it. Maybe it's a girl thing.

Sorry about keeping the thread off topic.

Actually – not sure I need to know about a cartoon dog with a speech impediment.

In regard to Typos or spelling errors – this site is not expected to be a place for the spelling test/Typo Nazis to roam free

Willie Boy’s joke about this was fine – you’d definitely have got off my Christmas Card list if you had said anything – so it’s not a Girl thing at all.

Sure - it is possible to hit the wrong key when typing or misspell something.

To get back on Topic - A gay guy can go BI - it's happened to me - so hence my interest in this thread

ASAIANDREAM, why did you just backtrack on your claim that not all gays can go bi-you did, maybe, but doesn't mean every gay can. I just don't think so...

Hi...been lurking for a long time...
That happened to me once! I am still married to her 10 years later. She knew me when I was only with men. Luckily for me, she is secure enough to understand that sometimes I might want a cock. (just a few times...and with an old friend) If I did another woman, that would be another story.
She is bi-curious as well, and I have always encouraged her to explore that. We did have a 3 some once...with a hot guy!!

Again - what I meant was it's possible for maybe some gay guys to go BI - I'd never say all can - just as some STR8 guys can go BI - but that doesn't mean all can.

In fact I'm still not sure if I can really claim to have gone BI or not - just seems like it in terms of my situation at the moment.

(I'd not go so far as to change my profile "Orientation" from Gay to BI )

Aww that's cute. I hope it works out. We need to fight those stupid statistics stacked against you guys.
Wow I give horrible compliments.

Glad I could help. I'm not usually anal, but that typo just had a great ring. I'm still saying it to my self.

Or just underexposure to the overlooked hegemony white Americana.
Nice of you to explain. Some people can be such elitists about trivial cultural knowledge, reinforcing a hegemony which they deny and claim to be an issue of "common knowledge". If I read right, which my illiterate self may not always do, it seems our Asian friend here has not had the full "American experience" if any at all (as suggest by mention of language complications.)
Sorry for my pomposity, big words give my ego a hard on.
Carry on.
