  • Hi Guest - Did you know?
Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

can/do you cook?

this may sound dumb, but one of the most "romantic" moments I've had with my better half is the time we teamed up to bake peanut butter cookies. I dunno...something just felt so special about it.

Nah, that's sweet. :)

I wouldn't consider myself a chef or anything, but I can generally follow a recipe and have it turn out well (with enough knowledge on my own part to be able to usually be able to spot good/bad recipes when I see them)

my boyfriend... I don't even know how to describe it. we spent last weekend at his place, and on Sunday night I suggested that we cook dinner together. we go out to the store, buy a nice cut of fish and some veggies. upon getting back to his place, I discover that he doesn't have any seasonings/spices in his apartment at all. not even salt/pepper to season the fish

usually we go out to dinner with friends on Tuesday nights, but with the weather being so damnably cold, we decided to just stay in and he said he'd cook the frozen pizza that his roommate left in the freezer. I thought, "frozen pizza... not my ideal, but how can he screw this up?"

lo and behold, I get to his place at my usual time of 7:30 pm and discover that he managed to burn the thing to a crisp. thank god I picked up a salad to have as a side on the way over, because that was what I ate for dinner after having a couple polite bites of the pizza.

LOL, youtube taught me how to cook.

Hilah Cooking

They are really good for novice cookers. Hilah actually has a cheap book for new cookers. She has a section that will teach you how to boil an egg. So she starts from the very beginning.

Byron Talbot has a few recipes that Ive used but he gets a little too fancy for me sometimes. (Right out of cooking school).

I can cook, I'm considered a good cook, but I don't like to cook...
My Texas chili goes over well.

Doesn't sound dumb at all. Cooking together can be very rewarding, and I imagine very romantic with your partner.

Looks awesome...every part of that photo. I'd like to try your chili out.

I love to cook, and I have lots of fun experimenting and developing new recipes. Sometimes my attempts don't turn out how I expect, and I almost never serve something to another person if I haven't tested the recipe several times by myself.

My ex and I used to occasionally cook together at his place, but I'm territorial about my own kitchen. I prefer to be left to my own devices when I'm cooking.

I am the same way with my kitchen. I sometimes cook with inspiration - I throw in the spices etc. as and when I feel like it. Since I mainly cook Chinese food (I am Chinese) the cooking process does not take too long and thus I need to be able to stretch out my hand to grab what ever it is I need before the cooking process ends.

Chinese New Year is coming. I am spending this weekend baking and making the Chinese New Year biscuits.

I want to make some chicken alfredo, but (to borrow a phrase from a fellow jubber) I'm too procrastipated - too tired to give a shit.

I've begun expanding my array of recipes to cook. A favorite of mine so far is a baked salmon with white wine and cream sauce. I've made it for a few people and all have said it was very delicious. I've done a few other salmon dishes and know a few other non-seafood recipes as well. I love learning and trying out new recipes.
